The perfect "Art TV" without the premium price tag!
I've wanted one of those "frame" style TVs for the longest time to go above my fireplace when we moved to a new house but I just couldn't bring myself to pay the premium price for the name brand version. Since I run a small business from home and spend a lot of time in my living room, I really wanted something that looked like decor rather than just a big black rectangle on the wall. After a lot of research, I went with the 55 inch Hisense CanvasTV, and I am so happy I did! Installation & Look The installation was surprisingly straightforward. It comes with an ultra-slim wall mount that lets it sit flush against the wall, which is key for making it actually look like a piece of art. The teak bezel is a really nice feature too; it just snaps on magnetically and instantly elevates the whole look. The 55 inch size is absolutely perfect for the space above my mantle and it fits the proportions of the room without being overwhelming. The Art Mode & Display I love that there are so many different art pieces to choose from right out of the box. You can really match the mood of the room or the season. I will say, it does take some picture adjusting to get that perfect matte, "painting" look. The Hi-Matte display is great at cutting out glare from my windows, but you have to play with the brightness and color settings to make it look less like a screen and more like a canvas. A little online research goes a long way here, but once you find the right settings, it looks incredible! Motion Sensor & Performance The motion sensor, which controls the auto on and off, can be a bit of a hit or miss sometimes. However, it’s been much more reliable recently, even though I didn’t change any of my settings. I’m wondering if a new firmware update came out that smoothed things over. It’s been great lately at "sleeping" when no one is around and then turning right back on to the canvas mode the second we walk by. It’s so nice to walk into the room and see a beautiful landscape instead of a blank screen. Overall If you want that high-end designer look but don't want to break the bank, this is a fantastic option. The picture quality is sharp for movie nights, but the way it transforms into art during the day is what really makes it special. It has been a wonderful addition to my home, and I’ve already had a few guests ask if it was a real painting during visits.

Great TV....no. Great art TV....Absolutely!
This television is exactly what I was looking for. Wanted an art TV for our livingroom, which only gets used when we are entertaining. Canvas tv will spend most of it's time in art form, but when needed it is a fully functioning smart tv. Mounting was fairly straight forward. Would have preferred bracket had mounting holes all the way accross the top AND the bottom so four bolts could hit studs (not just two). TV is kind of heavy for a flat screen, so have some help when mounting. Operating system is Google TV, which is pretty straight forward. Plenty of free art included. Ability to add your own photos from your phone was simple and worked well, just make sure your phone and tv are on same wifi network. Suggest getting Frame Crop app for more art. Have had people over and they didn't know this was a tv until I showed them. Picture and sound of tv are good,...not great...just good. If an amazing picture, sound and gaming are your main concerns, look elsewhere. But if you want a good tv that doubles as artwork, this is your huckleberry. Take the money you save from not paying up for the Samsung Frame tv, frame and art subscription, and buy an extended warranty to aleviate any Hisense brand concern.

Great product for the price. Mounting could be improved. Art Mode needs a little work.
I love this product. I got it for $650 on Amazon on Black Friday sale. Really a good deal. The main selling point of this TV is that you don't have a big black blob on the wall of your nice living room. However, mounting is not easy because the mounting plate has got to be placed in EXACTLY the right spot. No adjustability once it's installed. I had to open up the wall and put in a 2x6 block between two studs so the screws would hit something solid. Also had to install a recessed outlet. The recessed outlet is basically mandatory if you want this thing to look right. If it was me, I would make the mounting plate longer -- maybe almost as long as the TV -- and with more hooks so there would be a good chance of hitting existing studs. Would make installation soooo much easier. Still, once it's installed it looks great. Update 1/17/2026: I still basically love this product. For the price it is really hard to beat. I generally really like Art Mode -- use it all the time -- but Hisense could improve it for little cost and great benefit. First the digital mats they provide to surround the images are not ideal. The mats have value because it makes the image look more like a piece of art in a frame rather than a photo of a piece of art displayed on a big TV. When you're buying this kind of TV I think it's important. They need to provide a mat that is about twice as wide as the frame and equal-sized all around. Right now the only equal-sized mat they have is about the width of the frame. Also the mat colors are lacking. They need to have darker, neutral mats, so the mat doesn't compete with the image. Finally, the little descriptions they provide of the images are just ridiculously lame, for several reasons. The main problem is that they're obviously written by some Chinese person with a poor grasp of English and no real background in Western art. Secondly, the text is too large, and when it's displayed, the image is dimmed. This is just stupid. All they need is a small blurb at the bottom of the image with the title, the artist's name, and the date of the piece -- just like in a museum or gallery. All of these things can be fixed with a software update. Will they do this? I doubt it. Is any of this a deal breaker? No. It's just frustrating that such a good product is hampered by some software deficiencies that would be trivial to fix.

best picture tv for the price
I am really impressed with the picture quality, we put this in our main living area and it looks so beautiful, we've had so many compliments on it. The frame looks beautiful and the picture quality is still deep in colors, bold, and looks really cool with a matte finish. My kids watch cartoons on it and it just looks so much neater with the matte screen finish. Size is great and remote is easy to navigate

Frustrating, disappointing, buyer beware!
We are one week in, and every day growing more frustrated with this TV. We like the Art mode of this unit, but that is about it. First, it’s super glitchy - navigating the apps, pause / play / rewind, doesn't seem to matter what you are asking of the remote, the TV operating system is always one step behind you. Then you press another button because you think the first command didn’t register, and it’s that much more locked up. And the glitchiness doesn’t stop there, the picture isn’t smooth flowing. This thing seems to have the processing power of a Commodore 64. Second, and the reason I am going to return this piece of garbage, is the picture mode. My wife and I don’t like the “soap opera” effect of 4K when watching most shows / movies, so you can change that to “filmmaker mode” in settings. The problem is it won’t hold that setting and will change back to “standard” on every power cycle. Super frustrating. (yes I have tried every possible setting) Third, customer service. To remedy the picture setting issue, I called Hisense. Absolutely horrific - finally was able to talk to someone only to find out that the picture setting issue cannot be remedied. The CSA placed me on about a half dozen holds, every time I asked her a question about the TV, she put me on hold. She really didn’t know anything, I think she was googling answers. Finally she just told me she couldn’t help. I am writing this review to save others the frustration of the horrific execution of an otherwise beautiful TV.

Good tv, some caveats
I needed a "smart tv" in my bedroom to cut cable and use modern streaming apps natively. I dont like the Roku option. This tv was fairly easy to set up out of the box, and has every service available. I wasn't thrilled to learn its so tied into my own personal Google account, which seems intrusive. But, given I am in the eco system already, using Nest thermostat and cameras, I can forgive this. Others be warned. That said, it is cute to be able to see my live cameras on the big screen, or make temperature adjustments. Wall installation was fairly easy. There are no adjustment opportunities with the mount, so be sure to get it right the first time. It also helps greatly to have recessed power and hdmi inputs to achieve the most flush installation. It does look great once on the wall. Art mode is unconvincing af. There is no seeing anything but a tv as soon as you see it. However, I do use it, and it has a huge selection of art which is really cool. Because the tv is paired with a sound bar, that probably betrays some of the convincing it takes to believe it is anything but a tv. I got this tv at a great price during the prime days sale, so I really can't complain too much. I cannot imagine the samsung frame tv, which doesn't even include a frame, does anything better than this tv, which will always be priced much more reasonably. Recommended.

Art TV ✨
Very cool TV, and looks so stylish with the frame! Definitely happy with this purchase and have recommended to others. The integrated art mode has sophisticated options for free and the google tv feature is very easy to set up. The volume is also great on this tv very loud if you want it

A Premium Art-Inspired Display for a Budget-Friendly Price
The Hisense 55-Inch S7N CanvasTV is an outstanding alternative to higher-priced "art" televisions like Samsung’s The Frame. It provides a high-end aesthetic and impressive tech specs at a much more accessible price point, making it a top choice for style-conscious tech enthusiasts. Display and Aesthetic Superior Matte Finish: The Hi-Matte display and anti-glare panel are standout features. They effectively eliminate reflections, making digital art look like a physical painting on your wall. 144Hz Refresh Rate: Beyond its looks, this is a high-performance screen. The 144Hz refresh rate ensures ultra-smooth motion for gaming and fast-paced sports. UltraSlim Design: The TV includes a frame and UltraSlim wall mount, allowing it to sit flush against the wall for a true gallery appearance. Software and Interface Slick Google TV Experience: The Google TV interface is fast, modern, and very easy to navigate. However, users should note that certain providers, like Spectrum, do not currently offer a native Google TV app, which may require an external streaming device. Confusing Art Modes: One minor drawback is the separation of "Art Mode" and "Screensaver" into two different functions. Users have noted it would be more intuitive if these were merged into a single application for easier customization. Final Verdict If you want the "gallery look" without the premium price tag of its competitors, the Hisense S7N CanvasTV is a brilliant choice. It balances high-speed gaming performance with a beautiful matte aesthetic, making it one of the most versatile sets in its class.

Wonderful Canvas TV
We run Wabakimi Wilderness Lodge. We replaced our older not to sharp TV in the reading/TV room with this TV. Wow. Sharp. Easy to use. Smart. and comes with hundreds of classic and modern superb art works for screen savers. Does not look like a TV... rather like a beautiful piece of wall art. We were surprised at how hi-fidelity the sound was. Hisense is high quality and good value. Only regret? should have bought a little bigger.

Perfect art TV!
I love everything about my new TV (we’ve had it for a few months now). Easy installation, picture quality is fantastic, and sound is good. There are lots of nice art options but we also enjoy asking AI to turn family photographs into “paintings” and uploading them :) I would 100% recommend this TV.

Very cool TV that works well a monitor as well
Got this TV to make my desk look less like a computer desk and more like a built in area of my home. When not in use the TV is set to art mode and it shows beautiful artworks. You can also upload your own but there are tons of nice ones already on it. Love the magnetic frame, you can buy different ones if you don't like the one is comes with. Works well as a monitor too! 4k 120hz and nice color. Only thing that is annoying is sometimes the person detect doesn't work so well and it either stays on all night or doesn't come back on when someone walks in the room. But that issue is intermittent and I wouldn't really take any points off for it

Best frame type tv by a long shot
Excellent tv and I prefer it over my old Samsung frame tv. There are many features like remote find, no box, accessible power button, included frame, etc… My favourite by far is the zero glare. I have bright lights facing the tv and even on full brightness I can’t see the glare.

Excellent purchase
The picture is fabulous, especially in the art mode (the oils especially look 3D, to the point I want to reach out and touch the "ridges" in the "paint"). We made a list of Favorites that rotates through every 5 minutes so we have time to look at a picture, but still get a variety. Unlike the Samsung Frame, there is plenty of artwork to choose from for free. I haven't tried uploading any personal photos yet. The matte screen makes a HUGE difference with glare, although when there is full sun from the south and west windows it is still better to pull a blind. (The photo was taken in full sun with only a sheer blind over the window, and the brightness turned up to about 20) I thought I may need to purchase a sound bar, but the speakers are beyond what we need for living room use. Between that and using WiFi for streaming, I am very happy to be able to mount this like a picture and have NO wires running from behind. Even with the 90 degree plug and flat mount, it still pushed out an extra inch or so from the wall so we did purchase a recessed outlet to get it completely flush with the wall. Overall we are very happy with this Canvas TV!
