Expensive but they add real utility
The main benefit of these switches is that they are as convenient as regular wall light-switches. There is no need for a phone-app beyond the initial programming. That makes your fancy Hue light accessible to everyone instantly. The switches are well made with good mounting options (screws or sticky pads). They mount to the plate magnetically. Each of the four buttons can be programmed with several functions: short press, long press, multiple presses. (I use mine for On, cycle though several light-scenes, Off, but then I have a complex setup). Programming is not hard. The app finds the switches fast, and it guides you through basic set-up. With these switches, even the most technophobic members of my household make use of the Hue lighting scenes. That’s the win here. The whole Hue system is however punishingly expensive. If only it wasn’t the only one that worked properly!

Works perfectly in my Apple Home + Home Assistant smart home setup
Had them for a year, worked no problem for all that time. Makes my light switches easy to use for cave people. Dimming and color adjustment and brightness are not something cave people expect from a normal switch so they are happy, and I can adjust what I want anyway. It's a little on the expensive side, but since I had no problems with it at all I think it was worth it.

Smart Lights, Smarter Switches!
The Philips Hue Wall Switch Module is a game-changer for smart home enthusiasts like me! This 2-pack allows you to keep your Hue lights accessible even when the physical switch is off, solving the annoying issue of smart bulbs becoming unreachable. Installation was straightforward—though it requires a Hue Bridge and some basic wiring knowledge. As a tech-savvy user, I had no trouble setting it up in about 15 minutes per switch. The module integrates seamlessly with the Hue app, letting me control my HUE lights via my phone or voice assistant without worrying about someone flipping the switch. For parents, this is perfect for keeping nursery lights dimmable and accessible at all hours. My only tip: double-check your switch box size, as some older homes may need slight adjustments. Highly recommend for a smarter, hassle-free lighting setup!, Just remember your light also needs to be a HUE light.

Wife approved smart switches
I wanted smart switches. My wife thought the Hue remotes were ugly. These wall modules saved the day- I can control my smart lights, while my wife gets to keep her preferred toggle switches. Win-win. It's also less confusing for guests who aren't familiar with smart tech (hi grandma). So it's actually a win-win-win. Installation does require basic electrical knowledge, but it's no more complicated than replacing a standard switch, outlet, or light fixture. You just remove the existing switch, wire the circuit closed with the included nut, then attach the module to the (now disconnected) switch and stuff everything back into the box. I've never had connection issues with a Hue product, but I still recommend adding the module to the app and testing it before screwing the switch and module into the box. Update 6/26/23: I wanted to add more info since I'm now using Home Assistant. These wall modules do connect to HA through my Sonoff USB dongle, but it's not plug and play. They'll show up fine in a ZHA search, but by default they'll only register events from one switch (even when plugged into two), and you have to do some digging in the zigbee settings to get the second one to connect. Google it and find a walkthrough- you won't figure it out without help. And I still have one module (of four) that stubbornly refuses to connect to the zigbee radio, no matter what I try. That said, the other three work beautifully and continue to live up to the Hue standard of quality and reliability. Despite the uncharacteristic connectivity issues, I would still recommend these modules for use with Home Assistant.

Finicky but absolutely invaluable for smart lighting
These are finicky to install, set up and configure, but once in use they generally just work. Do NOT fast toggle them or they will get out of sync. But in short, if you are looking to use light switches with smart lighting/home technology and have the rest of your family adopt it with only minor sighs instead of real tangible complaints, you need these.

Expensive. still waiting on an electrician to install them.

Small enough to fit behind standard light switches within 2.5 inch electrical boxes, assuming you do not have too many wires passing through the box. But once installed, I have never had any problems. It just works, and as such evaporates from mind such that nobody knows anything unusual is going on with the light switch. Highly recommended!

Easy to install, but make sure you’re being safe, particularly that you have a voltage tester. Some of my outlet boxes had multiple live wires going in to them so I had to kill multiple breakers to make sure I was working in an environment with no electricity. I wouldn’t have known that if I just relied on the breaker being dead. Once installed, works really well.
