I like my steak rare or medium-rare but I have always found that the steak gets cold quickly, even if served on a warm plate. This product solves the problem; your last bite is as piping hot as the first. I ordered the SteakStone starter set from the SteakStone marketplace seller on Monday and it arrived Friday. The quality of the item is very good, a sturdy wooden/bamboo tray with a removable stainless steel insert to hold the hot stone, and there are three little glass bowls for sauces. I used it for the first time on Sunday with a nice thick ten ounce sirloin steak and it was probably the best steak I have ever cooked for myself.So, any negatives? Well it's a bit expensive but it should last a lifetime. Also, this product probably isn't suitable if you like your steak well-done. I personally find the idea of cooking a steak well-done abhorrent, but each to their own I suppose.NB: If like me, your stainless steel insert has a PVC sticky-back-plastic covering PEEL IT OFF! Your steak will not be enhanced by the smell of burning plastic.

good but would hve preferred something that looked a little more rustic? looks very posh & tidy if that's what you are looking for then perfect. cools quickly once taken from oven - but maybe they always do? expensive so chose carefully

... for our son who loves cooking and enjoys steaks. Very good quality but ours arrived with a slight chip in the cooking surface. It is a natural product so occasional defects are to be expected an Steakstones very quickly replaced the slab for one in perfect condition. It came with quite thick glass bowls which looked like something you'd buy from Ikea for tea lights but again Steakstones replaced them for the porcelain bowls which might not be as robust but look a lot classier. It is a top quaity item and top marks for the service from Steakstones. If I ordered again I'd probably ensure that I got the white bowls but in the meantime I await my invitation to supper!

Always great fun to use, and cook one’s own piece of steak, prawns, chops, whatever, to purrrrrfection!

I was going to leave 2 stars but it maybe my oven does not get hot enough, great idea but you need it in oven at least 2 hours tho, didn't really work for us

I was so excited to order this as my children love going to a local restaurant that serves steak on a stone, it arrived really quickly but sadly was broken, I hope that I can get a replacement soon as I would definitely keep it in that case.

Brilliant , love this stone for cooking steak! It makes the toughest cut tender!

The Steakstone starter kit is very small and would only be able to cook a small steak. The picture is deceiving.
