OluKai Ohana Men's Sandals, Water Resistant Flip Flops with Arch Support

FLIP FLOP COMPARISONS: OLUKAI OHANA THE BEST OVERAL WITH THE "CROCS MODI" - THE MOST BANG FOR THE $. In my efforts to find a GREAT Flip Flop (and attempt improvement on my Crocs MODI's I did a LOT of reading, Flip Flop reviews on the internet. The first decent Flip Flops I bought was a pair of Crocs MODI Flips, that were on sale at my local sporting goods store..... I LOVED THEM !! My only concern was that they might not be as sturdy (or long-lasting) as a Super Expensive, well made pair. So, of course, I had to do more research and try to find THE BEST Flip Flops made. Finally (after much review reading) I settled on three. I have now worn all three for about 3 weeks. I cannot attest to durability after only 3 weeks but I can give my impression of what their durability might be. The features I was looking for were: Contoured Foot Bed, Arch Support, Comfort, Cushiness & Sole flex, Quality of Workmanship, Staying on During Activities, Running true to Size and Impression of Durability. FYI - I normally wear a size 10.5 med. shoe. The three Flip Flops I tried were: Croc's MODI $ - Size 11 M OluKai Ohana $$$ - Size 11 M They were a bit loose so I exchanged them for a size 10 M. (However, that was a mistake when the Foot Bed proved to be too small). Vionic Harbor $$ - Size 11 M (with the Velcro adjustment strap.) Let me say that on a scale of 0 to 5; with 0 being unacceptable and 5 exceeding my expectations, all three of the Flips I bought scored very high. CONTOURED FOOTBED: Croc's MODI - 5, very nice contoured foot bed and heel. OluKai Ohana - 5, very nice contoured foot bed and heel. Vionic Harbor - 5, very nice contoured foot bed and heel. ARCH SUPORT: Croc's MODI - 5, very good arch support, positioned where it should be. not too high or too low. OluKai Ohana- 5, very good arch support, positioned where it should be. not too high or too low. Vionic Harbor- 5, very good arch support, positioned where it should be. not too high or too low. COMFORT: Croc's MODI - 5, very comfortable. The toe post is fairly comfortable. OluKai Ohana - 5, very comfortable. The toe post is a DREAM. Vionic Harbor - 3+, pretty comfortable, may take a little getting used to, or breaking in. The toe post was the most irritating of the three - Hoping that will get better with time.. The Velcro adjustment strap did not cause any discomfort. NOTE: After wearing them for 3 weeks, I simply couldn't take the irritation of the R. toe post. Had to send them back. Too bad, they appeared to be exactly what I wanted. CUSHINESS & SOLE FLEX: Croc's MODI - 4+, pretty cushy, when walking. Sole is flexible, but not mushy. OluKai Ohana - 5+, Simply THE BEST, a wonderful cushy walk. (Not too soft, not too hard.) Slightly flexible Sole - Just the right amount of flex. Vionic Harbor - 3++, a little stiffer than the other two but QUITE acceptable. Sole is the stiffest of the three but still somewhat flexible. QUALITY OF WORKMANSHIP: Croc's MODI - 5, a well made, well designed Flip Flop. OluKai Ohana - 5+, SUPERBLY designed and well made. Vionic Harbor - 5, Excellent design and workmanship. STAYING ON DURING ACTIVITIES: Croc's MODI - 5+, SIMPLY THE BEST! Stays securely on my feet during all activities. OluKai Ohana - 4, A bit loose, Staying securely in place? Takes some getting used to (I tried buying one size smaller - fit better but, then, the foot bed was too small). Vionic Harbor - 4, the Velcro adjustment strap helps it fit snugly. (no need for smaller size.) RUNS TRUE TO SIZE: Croc's MODI - 5, EXCELLENT !! Spot on! The size 11 M, fits my size 10.5 M foot perfectly. OluKai Ohana - 4, Fit PERFECTLY, except I found them to be a bit loose. (Tried correcting - by exchanging for a size smaller - Didn't work, foot bed was then too small). Vionic Harbor - 5, Excellent !! Again the Velcro adjustment makes up for any minor fit deviations. IMPRESSION OF DURABILITY: Croc's MODI - 4, the rather soft sole, looks as if it might wear out. But for the VERY REASONABLE PRICE - you could simply replace them OluKai Ohana - 5+, these Flips look like they would outlast me. After 3 weeks of wearing them constantly there is absolutely no signs of wear. Vionic Harbor - 5+, a very well-made Flip. Also looks like they will last many seasons.

Quality! They fit and feel very nice. The materials are well thought out and the look they provide is great. My only observation; these are for the water, so the sole doesn’t breath as well as some other flip flops. But, it isn’t really that noticeable since the rest of your foot is exposed to air. They are my new favorite flip flops and they work well in any environment.

Amazing sandals/flip flops! I was skeptical because of the high price tag, but these are SO worth it! The support these provide is incredible for a sandal and the straps and footbed are very comfortable. After a couple days of wearing these around, my sciatica has improved significantly and I am a customer for life now. I prefer wearing these around instead of my Birkenstocks, and that says a lot!

I have been wearing one of these around home every day for about 10 years. No blisters ever. I have one pair 10 years old, one that is 5 years old, and another 5 year old that just broke beyond repair that I just replaced. My shoe size is between 10 ½ and 11 so I get size 11. The current pair I bought is a size 11 but it is a little small. I will keep it with the hope that the arch at the end of my heel will elongate as my heel pushes down on it. The new sandal is the one on the bottom in the picture below. If you hold them together the new one is ¼" shorter. There are many miles on the upper one. The tongues tend to wear out after about 5 years and I have been able to mend two of them and put them on less stressful duty at second home or office but my last one just broke completely. The soles are indestructible and they grow more comfortable over time. Nevertheless, if you want a bigger fit and your feet come in close to size 11 in a US shoe, you might want to order a 12. As you can see, they are only offered in full sizes. A larger size might also solve the problem of wear on the tongue (portion of the sandal that fastens the upper part to the sole of the flip-flop. It's hard to say anymore what you will get next month with supply chains and fabrication relationships changing, because this is a well-established expensive brand it is all the more prone to enshittification. It is still a great shoe and does not flop and sticks like glue to the foot and ground and the material is good quality although leather is replaced with stretchy rubbery fabric that is strong but lighter and more flexible. I might try something else next time tho because of the fit if this does not eventually wrap itself around my foot as the others have, I just have to wait and see. I can wear a 10 ½ shoe in some brands, so I'd expect an 11 to be a little more ample for me.

Edit: 09/10/2025 first off I’m gonna say this is me from the future and it’s been three years now that these have been my daily drivers. And I mean, literally daily… all the way through the summer up to 120° and winter down to freezing. I just cleaned them and beside somewhere on the sole where my heel rubs on it these things have held up like brand new! I’ve been primarily a flip-flop guy, my entire life having size 14 and having neck issues. The wrong shoe can throw my whole body off. And these give you the stability of a tennis shoe (for my body at least.) having more than hundreds of different flip-flops. I can officially say this is hands-down my favorite flip-flop I’ve ever worn. The build quality and feel is unparalleled. They have a little toe cut outs on each toe that help them flex better rather than just that generic foot shape and you can really tell the difference. Anyway, after over three years of daily use, I cannot recommend these enough. The only issues I could see people having with them is the weight of them. They are pretty heavy flip-flops if you’re used to those foam white ones and that’s what you prefer. You’re not gonna like these these are more of a daily shoe flip-flop and the only other downside I can see is the price. But the price reflects 100% in this situation the quality of the shoe. You’re paying 2 to 3 times as much as another pair, but you are getting much more than that in lifespan and quality and comfort. I cannot recommend these enough and have got a lot of my friends wearing them and agreeing to my exact sentiments. Original review: Well I’ve only been wearing them for a week but they were a major upgrade to my last pair. I’m really picky with flip flops as I pretty much wear them year round. They are super comfortable and well built. Alan it too much so because they are not light sandals I felt like I changed to bricks compared to my last pair, but I got used to them really fast. They have strong thick almost tire like treads so it’s understandable. Great arch support also. But I do like in the desert that gets into the 120’s so that will be the true test over the next few months. If I don’t come back they held up if not I’ll edit. Solid 8/10 only for price but not overboard for what you get, otherwise a 10/10. At like $50 easy 10/10 but still way worth it. This is my third pair and I’m very pleased with the quality and comfort of these sandals. (Flops). Very durable and comfortable. Do yourself a favor and spend a little extra. Buy the sandals!

Pésimo YA SE RETRASO

Fits as well as my regular shoe size. Comfortable (and I don't normally like flipflops). Price is rather steep but if you can afford it then go for it. Gotta work on the thong/flip flop tan now.
