Cleans Everything
The weight of the soap damaged the box in shipping, but this has nothing to do with the quality of the rare soap inside it. When I sliced a bar off the loaf, I saw that the interior is still very soft, so I will cut and dry the amount I need in advance. The drier it is, the better and richer the soap. I tried all the tips that you can find online for cleaning, and I am completely satisfied with my choice of soap. Almost proud of it. I grated a bit of it and dissolved it in warm water to wash the walls, and my smeary failed previous attempts with other cleansing agents were removed along with the grime on the wall. Nothing else worked. It’s a different smell, if you are accustomed to chemical or scented detergents, but it leaves a “clean” smell to the rooms that is undeniable and satisfying. It makes everything shine - even teeth. I am using it on my face, and while my skin is moisturized, I typically can only get away with green tea soap else my skin will be irritated. This may still be true, as I have a little bump forming between my brows - my sensitive skin can only really handle Chidoriya products. I’ll keep trying to acclimate to it on my face, as I plan to take this soap for my laundry and everything on a 500-mile pilgrimage, and I want to stay as light as possible. If I have to carry a separate soap for my face, then I will pack mule it on my back, too, but this soap is definitely coming.

Best all natural soap you can buy…!
I’ve been using this soap for over 10 years now. First purchased a cube at the museum of fine art in Houston, Texas, During the Monet Showing and in the gift shop, there was a block of this soap. The little sign explained that this is all natural soap made the same way for over 1000 years. I bought one and fell in love with it. I have medium to oily skin and hair, and the soap is perfect. My wife has dry skin and hair, and this soap is perfect for her too. Stop bleaching your skin and filling your bodies with chemicals, Use this soap you won’t regret it. It does have a very earthy smell, But after you Rinse it off your skin smells clean, but not perfume somehow doesn’t smell like the soap. It smells like the pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disney World. If you ride it three or four times in a row.. lol That’s my favorite ride and this is my favorite soap.

Favorite soap
This is my favorite soap and mostly all I use. It can also be used in other ways besides bathing. A fabulous, versatile, and old school made soap.

Moisturizing
I am so glad to finally find bar soap that doesn’t have an endless number of ingredients only a chemist would understand. While it does not produce as many suds it does feel creamy. My skin also feels moisturized even in rather hard water conditions. Does it have a pleasant smell? No, but it does dissipate and does not remain on the skin. This brick as I would call it is easy to cut using the supplied cutter. I used a sharp knife instead and that was even easier as the soap is soft. The bar is dark green the way I would expect olive oil to look. Glad I bought Marius Fabre.

If you live in a place with hard water or have sensitve skin get this.
For the longest time, I basically used cheap bar soaps (Lever 2000, Irish Spring) and terrible liquid soaps like old spice and dove. I figured the dryness and itchiness and the synthetic smell were just a part of life. That being said, I tried something new for the hell of it and found it immediately improved all my skin issues. With the blindness out of my eyes and ignoring all the exotic and luxury marketing, I had a short adventure trying types of soap. I personally found olive oil soap to do the trick, but they suck at lathering. This has both the lathering from coconut oil and the moisturizing effect from olive oil. It is odorless and from my personal experience, it cleans a hell of all better than the synthetic stuff you get at the local drug store. This stuff was made when people were still fighting with swords and it was officially regulated under edict when a king had actual power. When something stands the test of time for generations there is probably some merit to it. If you care about your hygiene get this stuff. Recommend with an applicator like a loofah, or a salux towel for best effect. EDIT - 12/2022 I'm a bit surprised with the amount of "helpful" results from my review. I just want to add to it and state it was not solely the oil type used in the soap-making process, but I found the method in which the soap was made is just as important. For example, I've tried triple-milled soap olive oil soap and I've found it has made my skin just as dry as some well-known industrial-made brands. Stay moisturized this winter people!

Perfect!
It's been 20+ years since I've moved back to the US and stopped using olive soap, and this is pure nostalgia. I hesitated to order this because of the bad reviews about the product getting banged up during shipping, but I got lucky-the brick was rolled in a reasonable amount of bubble wrap and shipped in a box. It arrived in perfect condition- shrivelled enough to indicate it's cured, but not too dry to question the quality. And it has the most fragrant, earthy smell of pure olive oil soap! Toss out the silly cutting wire and use a pastry cutter. (You're welcome). I can't wait to use this soap!

Defective product.
I have purchased Marius Fabre soap several times. This time, the soap was dry, crumbly, and smelled bad. The cardboard package was dusty, beaten up, and torn. I sliced off a section of the bar, the cross-section showed how dried out the whole bar was. This was a very defective product that was delivered. I am entitled to a full refund.
