is the handle made of plastic or molded right into the cane itself?

The plastic handle is glued into the shaft. Four months after purchase the handle came off and sent me down the stairs. I am 5.9 135#'s. This should not have failed like it did. Avoid this product. Stick with the offset style handle canes to avoid injury or death.

What is the size of the base in inches?

The 4 “feet” that extend slightly from under the base measure 3 7/8” tip to tip. The base is about 3.5” in diameter. The cane stands by itself on most surfaces. It is the best cane I have owned.

What is the Maximum Angle of the pivot?

I don't know but I can say my mother loves hers.
