Dinosaur Night Light - LED Battery Powered - Motion Activated Night Light with Timer

Got this for my nephew who is afraid of the dark. He loved it and wanted to constantly play with it. This light turns on by moving it. There is a two second delay then that allows you to set it down and for it to remain on. Any movement after the 2 seconds will then shut it off again. This was somewhat frustrating for him because he wanted to be the one to turn it on. He is almost 4 and can't react fast enough. A 5 to 10 second delay would be better. Directions do say a 2 second delay for "adult" to turn on and set down though. He still loves it though and wants to sleep with it and play with it. There is a 30 minute timer then once you turn it on and set it down so it shuts off after he falls asleep which is nice.

Provides enough light to do diaper changes in the middle of the night and to check on baby's swaddle. It has annoyed me on multiple occasions, however, because it does not always turn on when tilted, and sometimes it turns off on its own. I don't regret the purchase, but I might research other night lights if I want to buy another light in the future. The auto shutoff is useful, and it's cute in my baby boy's nursery.

We purchased 2, both work the same. Whatever mechanism the dinosaur relies on to turn on is very faulty. It often takes much more than a gentle tip to activate, and most of the time we find ourselves turning it upside down and shaking it to get it to come on. The time it stays lit also varies; sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes the full 30. It is cute, but not functional. I wish it worked.

You're suppose to activate the light by shaking the dinosaur gently from side to side. It took me a while to get it to light up for my 5 year old who is afraid of the dark, and it kept going out. It's suppose to stay on for 30 minutes at a time but it doesn't work. And its overpriced for sure!

We had a problem getting this to work. The batteries didn't seem to fit well with the contacts and my husband had to fiddle around with it. Finally got it to work and it's a very nice source of light for middle of the night feeding and diaper changes for our soon to come baby boy. I'm sure he'll enjoy chewing on it later on as well :)

I loved this when I saw it and got 2 for my 2 boys. When it arrived, I realized the material feels cheap and operating is not as "organic" and simple as I would imagine from reading the description. My little ones (2 and 4) would probably not be able to use this night light if they woke up in the middle of the night. I had to return them.

I am happy to report that Macy the Dinosaur Nightlight is better quality than I expected.It's made of durable material, gives off a nice yellow/ orange/ and red glow, comes packed in a clever display box. It's a bit pricey, but worth it, I believe...so I ordered a second one as a gift for the son of my mother's caregiver. Recommended.Robt.
