Rosemary & Thyme: The Complete Series [DVD]

Nostalgia trip for us, always was a rather silly series but then who needs 'gritty' drama all the time? First time we have actually been able to enjoy the programmes as I hate adverts so turn the TV off when they come on and then usually forget to turn it back on.

As a big fan of Felicity Kendal and Pam Ferris this delights. Love the scenery and the music too. Easy relaxing viewing.

Bought this for my wife who loves gardening and dotty English ladies with attitude. She loves it and peace reigns in our house when she has it on. I watch cricket highlights on my ipad, so everyone is happy

With shows like this, you know exactly what you're getting from the off: a nice, cosy whodunnit without anything that would shock Aunt Edna too much. You can argue that the sleuth's casual acceptance of things like homosexuality and prostitution is a modern touch, but Agatha Christie was there with both of those over half a century ago.The scripts are well-written, the acting perfectly sound and a lot of foreign location shooting make the visuals well above average.Perfect family viewing: it won't set anyone's pulse racing, either from excitement or offence.

These shows are outstanding. If you enjoy mysteries, gardening, beautiful scenery and a few good laughs, this is a Gem. Felicity Kendall and Pam Ferris make an unlikely team as they travel to various localities in pursuit of answers to various horticultural conundrums. Of course there is a mystery needing to be solved at each location, that may or may not have anything to do with plants.

I had enjoyed watching a handful of this series on TV and needing an item to take advantage of add-on free delivery I ordered this DVD. All the episodes are enjoyable, easy watching, with mystery and intrigue all taking place in some beautiful surroundings. The bad guys cop it, the good guys live happily ever after with some excitement and red herrings in between. Perfect for easy viewing and you don't have to concentrate too hard! The picture quality is very good.

Miss Marple type of busy bodies with also their own profession. Beautiful settings for different episodes.The variety of gardens and scenery makes up for the lack of complex plots. But then the simple plots give an authenticity because it feels more realistic.

Good dvd set, nice to watch without the ads every two seconds. Delivery was swift, a little bit overpriced, but I am a Rosemary and Thyme fan and don’t regret buying. The first series are PGs only the third has a 12 rating.Reccomend to fans of Hetty Winthrop, The Good Life, Miranda, Out Numbered and Keeping up appearances.
