Powered USB Hub 10 Ports 60W, 3 Smart Charging Ports, 7 Fast Data Transfer Ports, USB Docking Station with Switches (HB-B7C3)

Due to an ever-increasing raft of USB devices I needed to equip my MacBook Pro 'desktop' installation with a solid alternative to an Inateck 5 port mini powered USB 3 hub which, although still running well, can be a little flaky during reboots and sometimes doesn't seem to wake devices properly after sleep, requiring a manual unplug and plug of the USB cable. I wanted to get something with individually switched ports, something robust with a strong enough PSU to accommodate all imaginable power drain over USB connectivity, something USB3, of course - not flashy but still stylish on my desktop. I've had a couple of Sabrent devices before and always found their products to be high quality and well-considered, and so as I studied the available possibilities over and over again, I found myself drawn to the Sabrent USB 3.0 Hub with 7 ports and, critically, 3 smart charging ports included. It seemed to have good reviews on Amazon and certainly appeared to be less susceptible to some of the niggles and unreliability that many users have found with other popular brands, many of which seem to be identical or very similar rebadges from what appears to be the same factory using the same configuration of the same devices. The Sabrent stood out for its good looks, and apparently rugged and professional appearance along with that encouraging volume of reviews, so I took the plunge and am glad I did. The package arrived with a surprising amount of heft to it. This isn't a light unit at all, the complete opposite of my 5 port powered Inateck USB3 Hub. The packaging is very professional and stylish, Anglo-french text and product shots in a tasteful design which presents a pleasing, sophisticated look to the product and - a nice treat - clearly designed to modern US/Europe standards rather than the cheesy, error-riddled and poorly translated efforts presented by other brands, and expressing that the contents were a more expensive product than the monotone or duotone printing on some of the 'brown packages' that we've come to expect in this market sector. The tasteful slip outer easily slides off the strong black box sporting the Sabrent logo, which opens to reveal a curiously lightweight hub unit with matt effect plastic sides, smooth rounded corners, and a tidy face place, gloss plastic and supplied with protective film in place to protect from scratches, presenting ten evenly spaced ports and their corresponding power on/off push switches and power status lights. Each status light is a blue rectangular LED and I didn't find them overly bright or lurid. One disappointment is that in the dark, unless you know the layout of the hub, there is no way of distinguishing the USB3 ports from the charging ports, and perhaps it would have been wiser - as other brands have done - to colour code the LED's and/or backlight the ports themselves. Minor things. The rectangular power switches feature a shaped button top which is about as close to a 'tactile' presentation as these strictly functional switches get. At times a couple of the buttons feel a little 'scratchy' on the sides of the faceplate during use, but that's a minor fit issue, and there really isn't anything of a gap around the buttons which would allow the ingress of dirt or grit into the mechanisms themselves. At first glance they look like they might be rubberised, but they're not - just solid, cheap-looking black plastic but entirely functional, and I have to say I appreciated the 'push' distance to engage the switch and the resistance to engaging the button - no accidental device disconnections by nudging the adjacent switch! Given the weight of the box, I was looking all around the hub for evidence of metal chassis, and there isn't any metal plating at all on this thing. It's definitely tough plastic, but how tough? Not sure. I don't think it would thank you for a thirty foot drop on to concrete or being flung at a wall, but in normal, every day use I can't foresee any problems. I think we'd do just fine with a drop from counter top to the office or bedroom floor without difficulty. The base of the hub is similar to the plastic in the sides of the unit, except with a very solidly placed rectangular outline strip of rubber, which is protected in shipping by an adhered, removable plastic film, which forms the non-slip component of the hub base, something which I appreciated, since my Inatech makes no effort whatsoever to offer desktop 'cling' and very easily pulls around all over the place given the slightest tug on the USB cables attached. Further exploration into the box reveals that Sabrent's policy has clearly been to put the weight where it really matters... They're confident that the hub is robust enough, and instead put the serious weight into the power supply... The ENORMOUS power supply. This alleviates my usual concerns about USB hubs - that the PSU's which drive them are so often little more than a phone charger plug in the wall, which give the sense that they might just pop at any moment. Instead, here we have a laptop-style two-stage power adapter, the power brick and the figure of 8 power cable, in my case with a UK plug on the end, along with the USB3 A/B cable to connect the hub to the host computer. There are no corners cut here, and you know with confidence that this brick can deliver the power - it's a 60w supply and the three charging ports with smart technology to automatically optimise the charge delivered claim to deliver 2.4 amps per port. This means I can now dispense with the additional Tecknet USB Charging Brick from my desktop and reassign it elsewhere in the house, with one less unit cluttering up my work space. I would happily recommend this product. Since my review is independent and self-funded I should also add for transparency that the unit I was first supplied with by Amazon had an intermittent fault where two of the ports were prone to random disconnections and cycling of the on/off status independent of the power switch. A very easy email communication with the vendor, SLJ Trading, Sabrent's Distributor, resulted in the very speedy exchange of the unit once stock was available, and the replacement has been flawless, as its manufacturer clearly intended. The efficacy of support only increases my esteem of the product and I'd honestly say I have no reservations about this product whatsoever. I notice that the design is very similar to an offering from Anker, and that Anker are one of the new wave of buzz-brands in this field at the moment. So what I would add in Sabrent's favour is that their offering does have the added benefit of the individually switchable USB channels for virtually the same price as the Anker - so let value-added features be your guide, rather than the familiarity with the brand name.

I have three other hubs but this one is a good quality and works faultlessly so far. It is quite lightweight but feels good. The switches are very good and transfer speed is great. Things to note in its favour is that power is supplied to ALL ports but three have a higher output and suited to fast charging which i like. I would say for your infop things like my sony camera, Canon camera charger perfectly on the other sockets as well as provide to and from data on my PC. I am happy with the purchase but think it is a little pricey but I knew that when i bought it so not a huge issue at aall

This is my second one bought, this time for my partner's computer (large desktop replacement laptop). I am very happy with the first one, after 4.5 years of constant use (I have a desktop and almost all my USB devices are attached to this hub). Power-only ports are quite useful to have, and the individual on/off buttons - while not crucial - are quite convenient for web cameras and noisy gadgets (like external HDDs).

Don't get me wrong here, this is a good device and offers some excellent functionality, but that all comes at a price. This isn't the cheapest USB3.0 hub, so you'd expect that it would come with all the bells and whistles, but in terms of supplied leads, that's a definite no. I'm sure, many people like me will be using this hub by connecting it to any of the USB3.0 ports available on the back of their machine. Nobody would want this device being permanently connected to a cable coming out the front of their computer, so why have they supplied this device with a USB cable so ridiculously short that you basically can't connect it anywhere else?!? It's just SO annoying that I've got to go out and buy a USB cable to connect it to the back of my machine, all because the USB lead they supply is stupidly short. When I measured it end-to-end it's at best 80cm, so a good way short of even a 1m cable. I think a 1.2/1.5m cable would have worked for all use-cases, from those wanting short cables to those wanting to actually be able to reach their ports... so, I'm hoping someone reads this and rethinks what I can only assume is some kind of money-save idea. Being grateful for small mercies, at least the power adaptor cables are of reasonable length.

I've had issues with powered USB 3.0 hubs before, but this works a charm. As you can see in the photo attached to this review, I have my Samsung Galaxy S8 charging via one of the "Smart Charging Ports" and drawing 1.36A of current (compared to a measly 0.48A that I usually get from a regular port). Build quality: The build quality is decent, but it's a little light side. This is good if you're planning on lugging it around all day, but it probably won't stand up on its own if you have 10 ports plugged in and there's no way of securing it to a worksurface via screwholes or the like. This gets 4 stars out of 5 from me, maybe if they stuck a lead weight in the case it would get 4.2. Chipset details: The chipset is manafactured by Realtek Semiconductor Corp and has a device ID of 0bda:0411 which is supported by linux kernel versions >= 2.6.0 (according to this site https://linux-hardware.org/index.php?id=usb:0bda-0411). If you are thinking of putting the hub on an extension lead from hub to pc, it may not work. You will need Active Repeater cable then works well.

I bought this as a replacement for my (very) old USB hub which suddenly stopped working after years of reliable service. My only requirements were that the new hub needed at least 6 USB ports. This item didn’t disappoint - it arrived on time and is exactly as you expect it to be. Other reviewers have commented that the blue LEDs are a bit difficult to see when switched on, yes they could be a bit brighter but it’s not a huge problem - you just need to be looking directly down at the hub to see whether individual LEDs are switched on or not. Other than that, it has been very reliable so far, with hassle free installation. The extra charging ports are also a nice bonus and mean you can charge your phone or tablet at the same time. The ability to switch ports on or off as needed is also good especially as it has improved my laptop’s startup time due to not having to connect to unused USB devices.

Product reviews are really important. After reviewing many USB Hubs, I see the Chinese crap overheats and starts meltdown mode soon after purchase. I choose not to participate in their global job stealing and exportation of inferior toxic plastic garbage. Wake up people, the clue is in the price - it is not cheaper when you have to replace it every 4 months or it burns down your house. I prefer German engineering (Belkin) whenever possible. OK this product is made in China, but my research shows Sabrent is an American company. It has been running for 48 hours straight and is actually cold. The local switch on each port is handy, the blue light is non obtrusive. My Spanish place has both UK and EU sockets but I'm in Ireland for a month (UK sockets) so having both adapters is really cool. This will be a permanent fixture on a NUC8i7BEH (4 port) so I don't need Readers, HDMI, Ethernet, USB 2 and all that other irrelevance, I just need more high speed USB 3 ports. It is compact, light weight, and with ample cord length between socket and peripherals. Update. It is working well with new X5 SSD Drive and all my other USB Devices. Excellent product.

Utiliser sur un SimRig pour tout le matériel Sim Racing et j'en suis très très satisfait. Les trois ports de recharges me servent pour recharger les périphériques sans fil (clavier, souris et casque) et les autres pour les différents périphériques (base, pédalier, dashboard, ...). Pour ceux (comme moi) qui pensent utiliser les boutons on/off, il faut savoir qu'ils leur arrive de ne pas s'enclencher comme ils le devraient. D'où les 3 étoiles. Après un petit temps (quelques mois), la position basse (on) a parfois du mal à "accrocher". Il suffirait peut-être de démonter pour remettre un guide convenablement, mais j'ai choisi de ne plus le passer en off. Mis à part ce petit souci rien à signaler sur ce hub qui fait très bien le travail.

I attempted to use this product and it pretty much did not work. I reached out to Sabrent support and they followed up very quickly. They sent me the tools and instructions to get things fixed up and this USB hub is now working perfectly. Thank you Sabrent, you have a great product and especially great service. I highly recommend.

Best purchase I’ve ever made for my setup besides like lighting and mounts, this right here is 10/10, had it for maybe 8 months so far (late review) but it’s absolutely amazing, and I know it’s not too demanding from my pc, I originally bought this for my laptop, but I’ve upgraded since then and it was worth every dollar, super useful and functional, has more than enough usb ports there’s just so many usb ports, super good port, along with the charging ones, super great power usage, and I can turn off and on the ones I want to use whenever, super light and it even looks nice!

Un hub USB 3.0 fantástico. Éste fue el único hub que encontré por Amazon con "Multi-TT", importantísimo para uso con dispositivos USB 1.1 como controladores MIDI, ya que si es de TT único, se reparten el ancho de banda entre todos los puertos y hay latencia inconsistente y posible pérdida de paquetes. Funciona perfecto con todos mis dispositivos y los interruptores son muy útiles para controlar qué puerto encender y cuál no. Así puedes dejar todos los cables conectados y solo activar los dispositivos cuando lo necesites. La fuente de alimentación es potente y permite usarlo a plena capacidad sin limitaciones. Desde luego, estoy super contento con él. Solo tiene dos mini pegas de fácil solución: 1. Cable USB un poco corto, que con un extensor USB 3.0 u otro cable se resuelve. De todas formas, si lo tienes cerca del ordenador, da de sobra el cable. 2. Se resbala y en cuanto enchufas muchos cables se mueve. Esto se soluciona poniendo un poco de blutack en la base para adherirlo a la superficie. Así da 0 problemas. Lo recomiendo al 100%, relación calidad precio fantástica. Resolvió todos mis problemas!

Tengo una lap YOGA, la cual tiene únicamente una entrada para USB. Gracias al COVID me he estado dedicando a dar cursos virtuales y videoconferencias en vivo. Este dispositivo de entradas para USB y 3 cargadores, me ha sido de vital ayuda. Le conecto micrófono, cámara de video, los USB para teclado y mouse inalpambrico, y todo funciona a la perfección. Sin problema alguno en la transmisión de audio y video. Además de que cuando se me termina alguna bateria del equipo de iluminación tengo la oportunidad de conectar su cargador a éste adaptador y recargar la bateria al mismo tiempo que estoy transmitiendo en vivo. MUY RECOMENDABLE! EXCELENTE PRODUCTO!! MUY UTIL!!
