Excellent chocolate. Worth the money

Normally I love Hotel Chocolat goodies. But these!!! I have had them before direct from their shop and was lovely. But this box .. moment I opened it there was a strange smell. Not unpleasant, just something I could not place. When I ate one of the batons, yuk! Tasted like cardboard. I thought they had gone off so looked for the "use by" date ..... well would you believe it. Now is near end November and the best before is next month. Now I don't know how they are stored at Amazon but ...... these were going off for sure. The quality was not good at all.
