Casual Sweet Clothes: Favorite Pieces for Every Day Paperback – August 26, 2014

This is a great pattern book for intermediate sewers. I probably wouldn't recommend it to anyone who hasn't made clothing before because it doesn't explain some of the more basic techniques. The patterns are cute and can be easily altered for a less boxy fit. I've done 2 patterns so far: the dress on the cover and a jacket. The jacket had incorrect fabric measurements so I ended up having to go back to buy more fabric. I think it was mis-translated.

I have not yet created any items from this book. Once I work through one of the patterns I will write another review. The book itself is very well done. The designs have simple lines and from what it looks like a generous amount of wearing ease. These patterns are sized for the Japanese or Asian market, limiting the sizing to no smaller than a 36 inch bustline. If you are larger than an American size 6-8, you'll need the grade up.

I've made a few items from this book and have been pleased with the results. Interesting designs, fairly simple construction and adequate instructions. Yes, sizing runs small, and it does take patience to trace out your pattern pieces from the master pattern sheet.

Can’t wait to use

I was excited to receive my book but was very surprised when I saw the size chart. I wear a petite xsm or sm, size 0 or 2 in ready made clothing and I don't think the patterns in this book are big enough for me.

The book is very helpful with beautiful pictures and cute guidelines in the back. However I find the instructions to be very difficult to understand and the pattern sizing is for small asian body type.

I bought this for my daughter's birthday. She is a beginning sewer and was looking for some trendier clothing ideas. The book is good, all in all. I think she needs to be more of an advanced sewer to be able to figure out terminology and lay-out. The book will give her something to work towards.

Book! More like a posh pamphlet, very thin book

A great book and lovely patterns!

Dies ist schon mein viertes Buch über japanische Schnittmuster. Ich liebe das Design und vor allem die großartige Arbeit der Stylisten vor dem Fotoshooting. Hier wird in wundervollen Farben eine zeitlose, dennoch sehr moderne, nie modische und stets mit allem kompatible Garderobe präsentiert. Ich würde mir am liebsten drei Wochen Urlaub nehmen und sofort alles nachnähen.In der Tat sind die Schnittmuster nicht an die europäische Figur angepasst. Ich gehe immer von Größe L aus und arbeite damit. Es setzt also ein wenig Erfahrung im Vergrößern von Schnittmustern voraus. Das sind aber Techniken, die man gut in den einschlägigen Videokanälen im Internet lernen kann.Alles in allem ein echter Augenschmaus und ein Glück für Sewionistinnen, die dem quietschbunten Mainstream entkommen wollen.

Ob wohl ich etwas größer bin, sind die schnitte super. Sie Umschmeicheln den Körper. Die Schnittmuster sind leicht zu ändern, ob etwas größer oder länger kein Problem. Obwohl ich Anfänger bin im Nähen mit einer Nähmaschine. Super Schnittmuster für Kleider die man täglich tragen kann.
