I can fill up with cold water and a little ice at the start of a long trip, and even after being in a hot car all day, the liquid is still cold more than 12 hours later. I was glad to find this one in the 24 oz. size, rather than 22. As for leak proof, this has wound up sideways and even upside down in my bag -- no leaks. It's fallen on the car floor and rolled around -- no leaks! I particularly like the way the straw attaches inside. It fits tightly into a flexible silicone sleeve and does not fall off. Ever. And it came with a spare straw as well. It's stainless steel, so it washes easily and doesn't absorb flavors or odors. You can't beat this for the reasonable price, sturdy build, attractiveness and reliability.
