Hayward SPX1600S Cover Gasket Replacement for Hayward Superpump

Hayward cover gaskets are an exact fit for your superpump. Although this costs nearly twice as much as a generic, it's well worth the cost. These gaskets last for years, thus it's best to order the OEM. I tried using a generic brand; however, I needed to cut the gasket, since it wouldn't fit exactly on the pump. It works; however, it's not a tight seal, as air is still able to enter the pump container.

I have an inground pool my parents first installed 40 years ago when I was 12 years old. It's safe so say I know this pool and it's equipment quite well. I have replaced countless gaskets over the years and the most important thing I have learned is only buy Hayward parts! Yes Amazon can be great for finding obscure items fast and cheap, but when it comes to something like a pump gasket don't cheap out, scroll down to the more expensive listings please. Just replaced a crap gasket I got here last year because it was already done. Normally pump gasket will go 5-8 years but this thing didn't last one season before it was losing it's shape, getting hard around the edges and leaking. I once had a hose failure empty my 25,000 gallons completely overnight so I don't mess around with any critical parts anymore. Never has a Hayward part failed on me. Ever.

Arrived fast and was a perfect fit after 6 years of buying a different brand that was always too big and had to be cut each time I finally found one that actually fits as it should and this it!

It worked the way I I was hoping it would by removing the noticeable air pockets in the pump. The only negative is that it was tougher to install than I thought. Thought it might be the wrong size. Had to stick with it and it worked out well in the end. Pleased I bought it.

I recently submitted a review on this product that was incorrect. This product was a perfect fit for my equipment. I apologize for submitting an awful experience for this company. It should have been 5 stars.

Nice Hayward pump gasket

This did not appear to be Hayward OEM as anticipated. None the less it came quickly and did work ( freeze gasket to shrink, and use lots of silicone sealant). My gripe is there are tons of “replacement “ gaskets that will work the same way for a third or half the price. Packaging was clear bag, not Hayward.

Arrived on time and fit perfectly. What else can you ask for?
