It shows kids that no matter what your background or struggles are you can become famous and a hero just like these famous baseball players. Not only does it introduce some famous baseball players and shows how they overcome it also introduces some of the famous baseball games in history and what went on in them. I initially bought this book for my friend's 9 year-old son because he enjoys playing baseball. I also wanted to help him find inspirational sports or baseball stories that could possibly teach him some life lessons. This book captured everything that I envisioned. There are four chapters in the book, and each chapter highlighted spectacular baseball players and teams that correspond to a life lesson. The first chapter centered around humble heroes like Lou Gehrig. The second chapter talks about players whose hard work paid off like Derek Jeter. The third chapter provided interesting facts about different famous players and even two games. The last chapter was my favorite because they discussed underdog stories of players and teams, including the 2016 Chicago Cubs' World Series win. I also enjoyed the story about Lou Gehrig. This touched my friend's son because it taught him a lesson about staying humble and taking his school studies seriously. From my POV, it appeared that my friend's son had an easy time ready this book while being engaged. I would recommend this book to other children who would like to learn life lessons through relatable baseball or sports stories.
