Use the right power supply
When I first started using this I was pretty upset: it would work for a couple hours, then drop off of the Ethernet until I unplugged and replugged it.Then I realized the USB power adaptor I'd plugged it into was only 15 watts, enough to mostly power this dongle and the device but not quite. The first sign of failure was dropping off of the Ethernet and not recovering.Switching in a 30 watt USB-C power adaptor made a huge difference, everything has been working smoothly since.

Great purchase, works great, well made
Works as advertised. Appears to be well made, good price. My wired connection is usually 850mbps-1G down. I'm getting consistent 348mbps down and 276mbps up with this adapter connected to my firestick 4kmax. This is plenty of speed for even 8k streaming. I believe the only reason I'm not getting more speed is that the firestick itself doesn't allow for it, as it is not needed. Very happy with this purchase. I have not experienced any negative connection or functional problems mentioned in other reviews. Plug and play, no issues. If this changes I'll revise my review.

worked for less than a minute.
It worked for a few minutes. Once connected to firestick and all network equipment rebooted the firestick registered a wired connection. Feeling excited I ran the built in firestick speed test. when the speed test opened it showed no internet connection! I guess all the other reviews were true.

Good performance.
Works fine, but the max throughput for a USB mini interface is a little better than 430 mb down. I consistently get 370 mb down. The device should not be advertised as a 1G download device if the technology (connection) will not allow it.Outside of that, no performance issues with this device.

Does not work with Firestick 4k Max
Why did you pick this product vs others?:This product does not work with my Firestick 4k max even though in the product description it says that it does. No matter what I do, my Firestick will not register as being connected to the ethernet port. I should have listened to the reviews, but they were mixed with some people saying it works while others said it didn't. Live and learn!
