AQUA GUARD Travel Pack (Conditioner, Shampoo, Detangler, packets of Pre-swim Hair Defense)

Review of AquaGuard Travel Pack (Conditioner, Shampoo, Detangler, packets of Pre-swim Hair Defense). My daughters both have extremely long hair that tends to get tangled and knotted whenever they swim. Despite this, they are avid swimmers and we often have them in swim lessons in the spring and fall. I love that this set of detangling cleansers fits easily into their pool bag and offers both pre- and post-swim treatment. I haven't tried the pre-swim packets yet, but the detangler, shampoo, and conditioner have all helped to reduce the amount of pain after their lessons! I will likely buy the full-size set of this brand and leave these smaller packages for our next vacation over the summer.

This set of hair products is a nice travel set and you can probably get a couple of uses out of the shampoo and conditioner. All of the products smell really good- kind of like a creamsicle. I felt like the shampoo was really thick and didn't lather as well as others and therefore I had to use more. It rinsed out well and the conditioner felt nice on the hair. I am saving the packets of the hair defense for when my kids have swimming lessons everyday for a couple of weeks. I think it will be more beneficial that way. It is hard to say if all of the benefits hold true for this product without months and months of use, (UV protection, etc) and we aren't daily swimmers so I find this more beneficial to use during the summer months when we swim more often. The travel size detangler smells really great as well, has a cap to help prevent leaks and it even comes with a little plastic bag to store it in to prevent leaks as well- which is a nice touch. I don't know if the value is quite there for the smaller travel sized products though.

For only $25, this assortment is a good way to explore the company's product line or use as a convenient kit for a warm-weather vacation. I originally bought it for my son, a swimmer, to combat the effects of chlorination on his hair. However, given how often he swims, he would go through it quickly, making it less cost-effective. Instead, I plan to purchase a full-sized Pre-Swim bottle for him and keep this kit for myself, as I don't swim as frequently.

I just came back from a trip to the Poconos and didn't really know if there was going to be shampoo or conditioner in the rental I was staying in so I brought this with me just in case and I'm glad I did. There indeed was no shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom, just a small bar of soap so my skepticism definitely paid off in the end. The shampoo and conditioner are very solid as in I actually didn't mind using it at all and its performance is really similar to the ones I use mainly at home. I didn't actually swim while staying over there so I can't attest to the "swim hair defense" that it states but I did enjoy the leave-in hair detangler that it came with so that's a plus. One thing I didn't like was how it left my hair smelling. It doesn't smell bad by any means but it does smell kind of funny as it's trying to mask something. I'm guessing that this is how it prevents your hair from smelling like chlorine so if that works then it's well worth the trade-off. Overall this is a great travel kit (especially for swimmers) and I would definitely recommend it. 4/5

Expensive but a very nice set. Smells good, appears to be quality ingredients from what I could tell. It's not in any fancy outer packaging, but it ships securely and is protected from leaks and damage. Easy to understand instructions and split into separate packages for the different products. I wouldn't expect to use this regularly, but for someone with swimming sensitivies in their hair, it seems worth it for an occasional use as needed.

This is such a great set I never knew I needed. Perfect to keep with you on vacation. You get a shampoo, conditioner, leave in, and some pre shampoo packets for protecting your hair from pool chemicals. Now something to keep in mind is a lot of pools have rules about showering before you get in so using the hair defense would be a waste. Aquaguard is the gold standard for swim haircare.

This is a nice albeit somewhat expensive travel set but the shampoo and conditioner is quite exceptional. And, they are travel-sized so there won't be any problems with TSA regulations. Both shampoo and conditioner work well. The pre-swim hair defense is a nice bonus. Our community pool has a heavy concentrate of chlorine. I usually apply some type of pre-swim spray to eliminate the "greening" affects of chlorine. The pre-swim in this kit comes in five separate packets. For short hair, I only needed to use half a packet. Apply it 15 minutes on moistened hair before hitting the pool and it seems to keep hair from drying out and turning green. This would be a great travel gift for anyone heading to the ocean, on a cruise or in swim competition.
