Save on power, chill your room out for pennies.
1. Initial thoughts The unit came packaged as if its packaged brand new. This was extremely pleasing as I did by the unit as a refurbished unit on sale. But from my understanding, lotta units that are sold as refurbished could practically be a scratch and dent return or maybe the box was damaged. Whatever the case is, I trust Amazon sell me a good product and they usually follow through pretty well with obvious exceptions to the rule here and there. The unit is a little bit heavy, but any normal woman man of stature could be able to pick this up pretty easily. 2. Setup Set up is decently easy if you understand really anything mechanically. The directions are pretty good, and clear on what/ what not to do. You may have to finagle the window, slat a little bit to get it to seal correctly, but it does come with foam and beetle tape to ensure you have an airtight seal. Quite literally is “plug-in play.” 3. Usage and performance. I am in south Florida on the beach. The climate that I’m in is extremely taxing on anything that has to do of cooling such as refrigeration or air conditioning. Normally, the humidity index is around 60 to 70% with an exterior temperature of 95° in the shade. This unit performs extremely well with all that being said and done. Its quiet, and very high-performance and handling heat thermal load. 4. Have a real big question my power bill obviously, the reason not most people would probably buy one of these either to help with cooling because it’s just hot as heck or because they want to save some money on the power bill instead of running their central air at all times. My power bill went from average of $11 per day down to $5.30 it immediately within the first day of using this unit to call my master bedroom down at nighttime down to 73 to 72° F. This is also running this unit on fan speed high, MODE -COOL. I do believe it’d be a lot more efficient and save you even more power if I was to run it at 74° fan speed on automatic and mode on automatic. Our consumption is somewheres around 400-500w/hr. This is only a FRACTION of what my central air conditioning uses (6,500w/hr.) obviously a split unit or a window unit with the same inverter technology, such as the Midea-U Will be even more efficient than this. But the reality is that it’s going to be a lot more expensive to buy/ install initially. For a four AC that is sub $200, dual tube, and digital inverter scroll compressor… i’m very impressed and very happy. 5. The summary I would buy this again. This is a great unit to save you power and really icebox your room out. This unit is cheap quiet very powerful and very efficient. There will always be more efficient alternatives, but in reality, it’s not by much. At least at this point, not enough to offset the cost of buying an entire split unit and then paying someone to install it and then paying someone to wire it up. If you want to save on power, this will cut your power bill in half as long as you don’t run your central air. My Central air conditioner is set at 78F at night.

Great for my summer work-out room / pain cave (Zwift and Rouvy indior biking)
Purchased for my indoor bike workouts on hot summer days, used it into fall this year. Cooler temps than a fan make it easier to put in harder and longer workouts. Now training indoors the whole year when outside is impractical. Works fine as a basic A/C in a smallish bedroom. Super quiet. Easy window install (bottom of double-hung) that I updated to a more weather resistant custom insert. Double tubing in/out and not having to empty condensation is a bonus!! Also, nice to have as a backup in case my house ac goes down.

Pretty Good Cooling Option
Back in March, I purchased a Midea U-Shaped window unit. It was fantastic, but, unfortunately, I had to get rid of it because it wasn't allowed by my leasing office. While the AC I have isn't terrible, I live in on the top floor. And since heat rises (not to mention I have a pretty powerful PC), it gets stuffy. So, I had to get something to replace the Window A/C. I had looked at units like this, but ultimately decided against them because the Window A/C was touted as the superior and, from my experience, that is certainly true. However, with no other options, I decided to give this a try. I bought this particular one because it has two hoses, and I've heard Portable A/C units with one hose are not very good for a variety of reasons. I will go ahead and rip the band-aid off, it is certainly not as effective as a good Window A/C unit, but it is by no means bad. For starters, it is MUCH EASIER to set up than a Window A/C. It only took like fifteen minutes to set up, and I didn't need any tools or anything. It blows cold air and, while it doesn't cool as fast as a Window A/C, it gets the job done and it will get the job done eventually, it just takes a little more time. You can control it with an app, so you can turn it on from work to get whatever room you're trying to cool going before you get home. As this was a refurbished unit, the box it came in was practically held together with straps, but the unit itself was in good condition so far as I could tell. The only other con of this thing, aside from it not being as effective as my Window A/C, is that it's a bit more...in the way, I guess. It's pretty big, and it can be in the way, unlike a Window A/C, which, by nature, is in the wall, so you don't have to move around it. It's not really a major problem for me, but it is worth considering. Ultimately, if you're a renter like me, definitely consider getting something like this. If you're a home owner, I'd recommend just getting a Window A/C, as it is more effective.

Very good and inexpensive unit.
This unit is heavy. It came in a box free from damage and completely protected by stuffing and plastic. It came with everything you could need except the small drip line for draining moisture. It is advertised as a system that doesn't build up moisture but i assume there are drain lines for the possibility something goes wrong or in case the space being conditioned is very very humid. The unit looked brand new and worked immediately out of the box. I purchased it because my camper only has one ac unit and it struggles to keep up in the heat, especially in the high humidity environment of west virginia. With 4 fans going & my 13,500btu unit on full blast, at noon, it was already 84 in the camper. I had to modify the vent piece that goes into the windows because my camper is not equipped with windows with 90 degree angle windows (to be expected), but otherwise the exhaust vents for the heat escaping the unit goes together quickly and easily. Just 4 screws hold the two ports to the window adapter, and no other tools are required. Within an hour of turning it on, despite the rising temperature & humidity outside, the unit dropped the temp 10 degrees. Within 3 hrs, it was 68* in the camper. I am very happy with the purchase. I just wish I had purchased it prior to the heatwave. It got up to 92 inside my camper. Now I wont have to worry about that any more. Also, I did have to purchase some additional items like Styrofoam and the silver tin tape to seal the window but it was never part of the advertised accessories. Oh and it is very quiet unlike my built in unit. Highly recommend this purchase. It is far less to purchase it from Amazon than your local box store as well. It may take near a week to get it but it'll save you quite a bit of money.

Low cooling
Got this refurbished twin hose portable air conditioner thinking it was going to be better than a single hose. It came in by UPS very well packaged and like new condition. Set up was easy, took me 20 minutes. Finally the moment of truth came to turn it on. Room was hot, I was hot. Nothing but cool air came out, not ice cold but cool. Though I would had to wait a few more minutes. 10 minutes went by then 20 and 30. It was in a medium room and the temperature on the air conditioner display never changed. It remained at 90°F after 30 minutes. I checked all the settings and it was set on Cool mode on high fan. I finally got a thermometer and let it read for a few minutes. Now I see why this Portable a/c is useless, the air coming out of it is 70°F. Tested my car's a/c with the same thermometer and it blows 45°F ice cold. Don't bother with this unit.

Cost effective AC unit. Highly recommend.
The renewed item was delivered on time and in the original product container. Looks almost brand new to me. The form factor and weight are very manageable. It comes with wheels which make it easier to move. The window kit is simple but intuitive. All parts clip together very nicely. The air conditioner itself has all the features I am looking for. Dual pipes and the DC inverter make the unit very efficient. The energy rating sticker on the unit says $53 per year (obviously varies depending on the usage). The master bedroom is always very hot because it sits above the garage which turns into a greenhouse (super hot) during summer. Most of the time I just need the bedroom cooled so I can avoid using the HVAC. The central HVAC is under powered to do its job and bearly keeps my bedroom cool. On the other hand, this portable unit keeps the room cool without any issue and it is whisper quiet once it reaches the target temp. My box fan is way louder than the AC unit. On the quiet setting, I would have no issue sleeping with the unit on. Insulating the heat exhaust pipe can further improve efficiency. Although I haven’t gone through the hassle yet. Definitely recommend the unit if you are looking for an affordable portable AC.

Nice unit. Well worth the money compared to a brand new unit from a warehouse store.
This is my 2nd try for same type of air handler. I have small home office inside my laundry room that at most might be 150SQ feet. While 8000BTU might seem like too much, my room is west facing with no insulation that 100 cinder block. I also live in south Florida so heat and humidity is very high. My last unit was 6000BTU and could never really keep this room comfortable. Also after two years, the salt and humidity rusted out the pan from my last unit. This unit had all the features I was look for, and the price could not be beat. The unit arrived well packaged in a brown box. Everything needed properly install was included. The only thing might be considered to be missing would be some Aluminum tape to seal any gaps between the part. Otherwise the unit was easy to setup. I put tape wear I saw any sunshine from the outside, and at night I used white duct tape to plug any light coming out from the room. The issue with these unit, they have poor drainage, and are supposed to vent out the condensation via evaporation. South florida is much too humid to operate in this manner. I contacted Hisense, and said I would be able to attach a drain line to the top drainage port and leave the bottom port open. I connected the unit to a condensate pump, and the unit has been perfect. Keeps very dry, no humid smell when it first starts. The AC on this unit has been excellent. I'm in the laundry room, and I can run the dryer without the room heating up too much. The humidity control is good. I hardly messed with the unit this summer when it was on. In the fall I've noticed I've had to turn the temperature because my office is cold. The wifi can be a little difficult to setup. I read online to power cycle the unit if setup fails. This worked, and I am very happy that unit turns on and off automatically on a schedule. The app is decent enough.

The bad far outweighs the good
I'll be returning this, sadly. This review is specifically for a refurbished unit, in case this page includes reviews for new units as well. - Very loud during operation - if you planned on doing anything in the same room as it, make sure you have some earbuds with amazing noise cancelation to at least mitigate it. - When it's off, it bleeds so much noise and heat and humidity from the outside, your window may as well be wide open. - The remote is very finicky and will randomly stop working sometimes, and does not sync with the app, so the unit sometimes starts going haywire if you set the remote and the app to different settings. - It's comically large and heavy, making it an absolute eyesore and poor choice for a small bedroom. Best of luck if you need to take it up or down stairs. As someone who skips arm day 7 days a week, I'm genuinely wondering how I'm going to manage to return it.. - Absolutely chugs power when it's cooling - I had it connected to a smart plug specifically to measure this, and it was showing almost 700W usage at times. + Installation was relatively easy - I went the extra mile and cut one of the sleeve panels to fit my window in hopes to improve sound quality and insulation (it obviously didn't help at all and there's a good chance I voided my return, I guess we'll see...). If you don't cut panels, you can get it up and running in less than 10 minutes. + The refurbished unit came in pretty good condition. Definitely some scratches/stuff marks here and there on the unit and remote, with obvious adhesive residue on the panels from past use. For $250 less than similar units in its category though, I couldn't really complain. + It does a decent job at cooling, all negatives aside. My use-case was a small, 130sqft bedroom with a single window, door, and tiny floor vent. I have a beefy gaming PC that emits a lot of heat, I keep the window closed due to noise and horrible seasonal allergies, and I keep the door closed due to noise and privacy. In the summer, it easily hits 85°F in my room. With this thing running full blast, it cooled my room down to 72°F in about an hour, and I intentionally used worst conditions possible (door closed, PC playing game that makes it run hot, 90°F outside).
