Effective security solution.
The SwitchBot Wireless Security Camera 2K has proven to be a good choice for outdoor surveillance, offering a comprehensive set of features that make it versatile and user-friendly. The package includes everything you need for installation, sticky mount, mounting template, screws/plugs, a USB-C charging cable, and a detailed, user-friendly manual. Setting up the camera is straightforward, thanks to the SwitchBot app, which guides you through the process with clear on-screen instructions. In terms of functionality, the camera delivers what you'd expect from a quality Wi-Fi security camera. The 2K picture quality is sharp, and the weather and dust resistance ensure it performs well outdoors. The colour night vision and spotlight are excellent for maintaining visibility in low-light conditions, while the AI human/pet detection minimises false alarms. You can also benefit from its compatibility with Alexa and Google Assistant, which adds a layer of convenience for smart home integration. The camera's two-way talk, push notifications, and siren provide an additional level of security, making it easy to respond to any detected motion. The motion detection is sensitive and accurate, with the spotlight automatically turning on to deter potential intruders. The video playback is decent, and the app offers a range of customisable options to tailor the camera's performance to your specific needs. One thing to consider is the battery life, which can vary depending on where the camera is placed. I have mine placed In a low-traffic area, on top of a shed, the battery life is impressive. However, in high-traffic areas, you might find yourself recharging it more often. Investing in a solar panel charger could be a worthwhile addition to keep it continuously powered.Another thing to consider is the Wi-Fi connection and distance from your router. If the camera is placed far from the router, you might experience connectivity issues, which can affect the quality of the video stream and notifications.Overall, the SwitchBot Wireless Security Camera 2K is a reliable and effective security solution that works well for most outdoor monitoring needs. It’s easy to set up, packed with useful features, and offers good performance, especially in low-traffic areas.

Dont provide enough power to keep cameras charged during the winter days.
These are OK during the summer months, but they don't really provide enough energy during the winter to keep the cameras charged all the time. The cameras drain and instead you have to keep taking the cameras down about once a week and recharging them. We have now replaced most of these with direct wires to the mains to ensure the external cameras don't run out of charge in the non-summer months.

Great Quality & Design - Just A Few Minor Issues
I really like the design of this camera - it's like a small ball that clips into a bracket and allows you to adjust it to cover whatever area you need. The bracket holds the camera firmly, so I don't have any worries about high winds readjusting it's angle. Saying that, I would have liked a way of securing the camera in the bracket once you have set it how you want. At the moment someone could potentially just reach up and steal the camera (if it is in reach). The picture quality is excellent and can't be faulted (other than being much better at close and medium range.) Plus there are lots of different settings to explore such as the different night vision modes. It is easy to set up your motion detection zone, but I'd recommend you play around with the tilt and angel a bit to ensure it works the way it should. It also supports up to 256GB memory (if you don't want to use cloud storage) which is much more than I normally see, and means it can hold a real wealth of recordings. There is a good manual and the "SwitchBot" app works pretty well and is rather self-explanatory especially if you've used cameras like these before.Battery life has been excellent so far - three weeks and counting and I haven't yet had to recharge it. You could "in theory" buy a solar panel if you wanted to install this camera somewhere a bit less accessible. But I would have doubts about using one, as you might get water ingress where you plug the cable into the camera. But like I mentioned, the battery life seems better than average, so this shouldn't really be an issue.Overall, despite a few small issues such as securing the camera, it is really worth considering as a well-designed, good quality security option with long battery life

Proving Helpful……
……. I’m really pleased with this security camera I haven’t put it outside though, I’m using it inside. One of the reasons I’m using it inside is because it actually looks really good - it doesn’t look out of place inside. I do need to get myself a white tripod though! We have pets and this camera is helping us keep an eye on the pets when we’re not thereIt was really easy to set up, very straightforward, didn’t take long at all.The app is easy to use tooI would absolutely order again, and I’m very happy to recommend

Good connectivity
I have a few switchbot items and have always been pleasantly supprised with their stable connections - this camera is no difference. Dispite being a good distance away from our router it's connection is reliable and works well with alexa. Very simple to view the camera from our show devices or a phone. The image quality is OK, not great over distance but close to medium range is good enough for most purposes. Night mode is better than expected and notifications are responsive (if you choose to activate them). You can change notifications and sensitivity easily in the app. The device itself feels good quailty, it clips into the holder easily and sits snug - although you can still position it with little effort. Takes four screws to secure (included) aswell as four raw plugs. Battery is decent although I should imagine it's very dependent on how often you use it and how responsive you have alerts and notifications. Very pleased. Would recommend
