A Place To Call Home

The first of Joey's solo albums is certainly very different from Europe. A must for any Joey fan. His voice is as fantastic as ever, lyrics are brilliant and the whole album shows a totally different style and presentation to Europe. Can't think of anything bad about the album at all, it's well worth having in your collection.

Joey has written very good tracks on this album, nice sounding casual rock, wonderful arrangements, great melodies, nice lyrics. a very upbeat album.

i enjoyed this cd and would like to buy more of joey tempest solo material. easy listening music with a country feel.

Brilliant!

My "rock chick" persona made me buy this album. My roots as a singer/songwriter made me love it.....A departure from "The Final Countdown", the direction of 'A Place To Call Home' is more "carrie-esque" but every track is worth a listen and it's one of the few albums that I put on and listen to in its entirety... skipping none of the tracks and enjoying them all.If you're a Europe fan hoping for more of the Euro-Rock sound then perhaps give it a miss; if you're a music fan looking for some great easy listening with an optimistic tone then what are you waiting for... it's well worth seven-pounds-something of anyone's money and (in my humble opinion) a heck-of-a-whole-lot better than some of the offerings in the album chart now....Go on..give it a go.. you'll be glad you did.

Discazo en solitario de joey tempest una maravilla

primo album solista per Joey Tempest. Il genere suonato è distante anni luce dal sound degli Europe, si tratta di un buon rock, tendente quasi all'acustico, ma di ottima fattura. Personalmente apprezzo tutte le tracce.

Joey Tempest nous délivre dans ce premier album solo un album de grande qualité dans les compositions, les paroles et le son. Plus soft qu'avec le groupe Europe, les morceaux sont toutefois rythmés, et menés par des guitares tantot acoustiques tantot électriques. Pas un seul titre que l'on aurait envie de zapper. Joey tempest dit dans les interviews qu'il souhaitait lors de cette période solo améliorer son écriture en s'inspirant de grands noms tels que Springsteen, van Morisson, Bob Dylan..., eh bien il n'a pas mis longtemps à apprendre, les textes sont très bien écrits, dans son propre style et respirent la sincérité. A recomnander à tous les adeptes de "soft rock" mais aussi aux fans de Europe ou de hard rock curieux de découvrir une autre facette de cet artiste.

This is a great cd to get if you love Joey Tempest like I do. He proves he is versitile as a singer/songwriter and musician. This is nothing like the stuff he did in Europe. The cd arrived in perfect condition and before it was scheduled to arrive, so I am very pleased with this purchase.
