Govee TV LED Backlight, RGBIC Smart LED Strip Lights for 70-80 inch TVs

I absolutely love the Govee TV Backlight! It was pretty easy to install, and I love being able to control everything right from my phone. The lights sync really well with what’s happening on the screen, and the colors are bright and vibrant. They make watching movies, listening to music, or even just watching TV feel so much more immersive. There are also plenty of settings in the app to customize the lighting to your liking. Definitely a great addition to my TV setup and totally worth it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

As someone who is all about the ~ambiance~ and who despises overhead lights, I adore this backlight. ——— PROS ——— - Super easy to apply. Just wipe the back of the TV down with the included wipe, peel the tape off the light strips, and stick onto the edges of your TV. It’s hard to mess up, even if you don’t perfectly position the light strips. You can also re-position them if you need to without losing the stickiness. - The cord is fairly long in case your outlet is far away, but it’s also thin enough that I can bundle it up with a twisty tie and hide it behind my TV. - Will work with a TV even if the back isn’t completely flat. I just ran the strip over a bump out that was on one side and it worked fine. - The lights are bright and vibrant. No dead spots. - The Govee app, which is what you need to customize these, is easy to use and reliable, which can’t be said for other tech gadgets like this that require an app. - There’s about a billion different pre-set light settings, and you can also make custom settings with any color you want and even set each light independently. You can set favorites in the app so it’s easy to find the ones you like. - Works well with my Google Home. All I had to do was add the backlight in the Govee app and then select “works with Google” and search for “Govee” when adding a device in the Google Home app. It stays synced/paired and I don’t have to mess around with it. - Brightness/color can be adjusted both in the app and with voice commands. There’s a button on the cord on the back of the TV to turn it on/off manually too. - Can be set on a schedule with the Google Home app and I think also with the Govee app - I’ve had the backlight on my TV for about a month and so far haven’t had any issues with the lights falling off or coming un-stuck. ——— CONS ——— - May be a little small for bigger TVs. I got the 55-65 inch size, and it was a perfect fit for my 55 inch TV, meaning that the lights ran from one edge of my TV to the next on all sides with no gaps. There is enough cord to cover the corners if your TV is bigger, so technically it will fit a 65 inch TV, but the corners might be a bit darker than the rest. If you want it to be seamless, I’d go with a larger size. The light strip is flexible, so you can bend it a bit to make it fit if it’s too long. - The “sync to music” setting is pretty bad. I can tell that it is actually reacting to the music, but it’s mostly just erratic flashing. ———— Here’s a bonus list of commands that I’ve found work with Google: - Turn on/off the living room TV backlight” (tip: name your backlight something fun in the Govee app if that’s too much of a mouthful) - Make the TV backlight blue (any color works here, even ones like “indigo” or “light pink”) - Make the TV backlight candlelight (gently flickers shades of orange/red) - Set the TV backlight brightness to 20% (or whatever % you want) - Make it spooky in here (flashes lights purple/green/orange with spooky music) - Turn up the love (flashes lights pink/red with romantic sax music) - I believe there’s others as well but those are the ones I’ve found work ——— Overall I’m really happy with this light and glad I bought it instead of some of the pricier ones I was looking at. I’ll update this review if anything changes, but for now I’d definitely recommend it! (BTW: I bought this with my own money, and I wasn’t paid to write this review. I rely heavily on reviews when shopping on here, so I just write these for future need-to-know-everything-before-buying shoppers like me.)

Great lights, they are of good quality and work well with the Govee app to control the colors and brightness. They also come with installation clips to make the installation much simpler. I always buy Govee you can trust quality and ease of use..

I'm a moderate fan of Govee lights and other accessories. I think they offer a good bang for the buck, but there are certain things I wish were normalized across their product line. Some have remotes, some use apps, some integrate better with automation platforms like Matter. I think at times they have too many products, but I get they're trying to cater to just about everybody at various price points. In terms of the kit I purchased, I installed it on an 85" Sony TV. Installing it is easy, but I will give you a couple of tips if you plan to install lights on the back of multiple TVs. I have not had the best of luck with the adhesive always holding the LED strips onto the TV, and also the small plastic retainers they give to hold the cables in the corners of the TV, along with the other wires you must route behind the TV. What I have done is purchase black hot glue sticks, and use that in place of the white clips they provide, and you can also put a dab of hot clud under the light strips at each end to prevent peel back. Removing is simple with rubbing alcohol down the road if you want to release the hot glue. Functionality wise, these seem to work best at a very slow animation rate, or in static form. WIth faster animations, they don't present what I would call smooth transitions, and that's likely due to the limited number of LEDs on the strips. I also tried setting up the camera on my 85" TV and no matter what I tried, the app would also jumble up the display on calibration. I tried with the room bright, dark, moving the orange calibration squares, using a YouTube calibration video, etc. So that mode is pretty much a non-starter, tho I have a similar kit on a smaller TV that works okay. For my settings, I pretty much just use the scene mode, and allow it to very slowly transition colors. It so slow that you have to really pay attention to see the colors slowly transition, and I like that. It provides good accent lightling and that's all I was really after. So for me, I'm taking a star away for the camera/calibration issues, along with the animations not being very smooth at faster rates. I also wish it had a much better auto off function, since you must run it in the VIdeo mode for that to work, but even when I did that, the lights remained on all night. At this point I just run them 24x7, but it would be nice if it had audio or video pickup regardless of mode, so you could set a sleep timer based on audio or video. Would I buy these again? I'm not sure. I'd do my research since this industry seems to be ever evolving. I only use Hue and Govee for my lighting at this point, so I'd try to stick to those two brands on a future purchase. I have not had a Govee product fail, but I've also not had a Govee product really impress me. Cool, yes. Amazing in design and execution, no. I have not purchases all of their products though, but thus far, they're good, not great in my book.

Excellent Govee product - love the back-lighting on all our TVs. I've gotten others to do theirs, too. My nice wasn't sure why she needed it until I installed it on her TV and she realized how cool it was to have at night. The colors are amazing. The flexibility of color schemes is really awesome and it really helps with eye strain in a dark room while watching anything with big contrast between darks and lights. You don't realize how much eye strain is involved with watching TV in a dark room until you have the back-lighting turned ON. The eye relief is amazing. Some might notice more than others, but for the two of us in our house, we absolutely notice when the back-lighting is off. The Govee app has amazing controls, too. You can connect with both Bluetooth and Wi-fi on Govee products which has been great. I can be anywhere in the house and be able to control any of the Govee units. Plus, there's a timer setting so you can set lights to turn on or off at a specific time of day (or multiple times a day depending on the application). I can't say enough good about Govee produccts. Quality is amazing.

Overall, these lights are terrific. They light up the living space with vibrant colors and bright effects. The RGBIC feature was something I didn't know I wanted, but now I can't live without. Especially in combination with other Govee lights, these strips bring some amazing ambiance and life to a room. The strips themselves, as others have mentioned, are overall good, but have some flaws. First, the good: I love that the strips are black so they don't clash with the color of the TV. Also the dedicated corner wires make it so you don't have to deal with the confusion on how to twist the strip around corners without breaking them, so that's a big plus. I have a 55in TV and these fit around the back rim perfectly. The major flaw comes in the adhesive. This can really be hit or miss. For example, 3/4's of my strip had good ahesive that has stayed secure for months now. However, out of the package, the last 1/4th of the strip had very little to no adhesive at all and could not hold itself up. Fortunately, Govee rectifies this by including some dedicated mounting brackets, so I was able to use them to finish mounting the strip. It would be better if the mounting brackets were colored black instead of white so the colors don't clash, but functionally they get the job done where the adhesive fails. Despite that, the lights and the many patterns are great. The app itself to control the lights can be finicky, but after taking a few minutes to walk through the app, you'll find the basic functions. I wish that there was a way to slow down some of the light patterns, as some of them are extremely fast moving. Overall, I would highly recommend these lights. They are affordable, versatile, and have a wide variety of features. The adhesive can be hit or miss, but regardless, these lights are terrific.

I love these lights. The colors are super vibrant, the app is easy to use, and they instantly upgrade the whole vibe of the room. Setup was pretty straightforward and they stick well without peeling off. I liked them so much I ended up buying multiple sets they just make everything feel more fun—movie nights, relaxing, even just having the TV on hits different now. If you’re thinking about it… just do it. Your living room will thank you

First, Never listen to Amazons AI assistant. it will lie to you, as its job is to convince you to buy anything. Profits over accuracy. Second, the lightstrip is nice and functions well for what they describe in the listing with MINOR control through LAN as it will paint all LEDs as a single source when used with Govee plugins through SignalRGB. This strip DOES NOT have dreamview or razor compatibility as I was told by Amazons AI bot. I guess it at least matches the color theme for my big honkin' lightbox, but I still find myself disappointed as I was hoping for a little better integration than what I got. Currently working on brute-force coding the lightstrip into the plugin to see if I can make any better integration, even if I have to manually type in each of the 138 LEDs to give them all their specific destinations to make my regrettable purchase a bit more aesthetically pleasing

Make my living room looks cozy af. Its great for 65 inches TVs but it would be hard to fit on a 55. It neatly fit my 65". The leds are high quality and there are plenty of modes for what you look for. This is the Aurora-2 them

I bought these lights for the back of my TV, and setup was a breeze. They’re bright and look great against a white wall. If your walls are darker, they won’t reflect the light as much, but that’s just how light works. The lights themselves are plenty bright. They work well with Google Home, so you can control them with your voice, and the app has plenty of options and is easy to use. No complaints at all, and I’d definitely buy them again. Take your time installing them.
