Netgear FS605-300PES Switch white 5 ports

I have had this running for a few months now and as with network switches which I have had over the years, this is another good reliable network switch and it looks like it will last for some time to come.When 100mb devices are connected the numbered LED glows orange. For 1Gbit devices the numbered LED glows green. The number LED flickers when there is traffic passing through the connection and isn't too distracting.I have a mixture of both 100mb and 1Gbit Ethernet products and this is quite happy to handle the traffic from both sources simultaneously.There isn't really any technical knowledge required to connect up a network switch. The use of Cat 5e Ethernet cable would be highly recommended with a product like this as Cat 5e will support up to 1Gbit network speeds upto a distance of 100m. Many people would recommend Cat 6 cable, but this is a little too much for the home environment and unless you are planning a 10Gbit LAN, quite pointless IMHO.As with most equipment like this, it is best to leave it on 24/7 and it will just work as required. Powering it up from a cold start on a regular basis could reduce its life expectancy, as with most other similar products.

I bought this about a couple of months ago and am very pleased with it now. Initially, I was a little disappointed as it seemed to be imported from Europe (the mains plug seemed to be custom built which meant the plug was a bit big compared to a normal UK plug). However on the plus side, the mains cable has a on/off switch built in which means switching off the box is very simple. In performance, I can not find any faults.

Unfortunately I didn't check the reviews before I bought this product.It isn't UK spec and comes with a European 2 pin plug.Please do not buy this item from this retailer. Find another retailer who will supply a UK spec device.This is not acceptable for a UK based retailerI shall be returning this item

The Netgeat switch is excellent and works really well.I am only giving this two stars as it comes with a EU power supply and not a UK one. I have had to spend an extra £10 getting a new power supply.The item listing needs to be changed!!! DO NOT BUY for the UK, spend extra at another retailer for a UK model.

The only minor issue is that, rather than a native UK power supply unit, it came with a two prong PSU and a converter so it could be used in a UK socket. This works fine, but is rather bulky. That said, the device is working just fine.

Felt I was mislead by Amazon UK. This is not a UK product but a European 2 pin plug type power supply.I would expect the retailer to warn customer when purchasing from UK website that the product is not for the UK.Please improve your adverts.This explains why it was cheaper than Dabs or Ebuyer!

I bough this 8 port switch to replace a 5 port gigabit Netgear switch having "run out of ports" in the office. Both have been very easy to use. Just plug in and switch on. LED shows orange/green for link speed. We have mixed 100/1000 Mb network. Nothing to configure or change. This newer 8 port one one has a smaller power supply mains plug and claims to be more energy efficient.

As good as the one before.. Have two of these running now..and they are very reliable..Great purchase
