Longer Laser Engraving and Cutting Machine Air Pump, Eliminate Smoke and Debris, Suitable for RAY5 10W/20W and Others Laser Engraver

Love it. It works perfect and works as expected. Wish it came with a little longer hose to connect everything as I’m working in a very funny space currently and can’t have the pump next to the laser. Works great BUT use it on a case my case basis. Cuts and light engraving have been phenomenal. Did a deeper pocket that removed a lot of material and the air assist blew soot all over the wood piece. Could be sanded but doing the same pocket again without assist yielded better results entirely. Not a deal breaker. Just pay attention to it and know when and when not to use it. Very happy with it.

It is very well made and it comes with everything you need

The package arrived promptly and undamaged. The silocone o-ring between the air nozzle that threads into the laser head is a bit too large, and pops out of place; can't really secure w/o air leak. I had a piece of hobby store brass that fit over the nozzle well. The washer had no way to squish out. A thin washer would work too, diamond hone it until the nozzle input clocks to where you want it. Literally bought that tubing 50 years ago, what you gonna do. Still setting up laser (end stops - epic pita), so maybe 5 minutes on the pump, hope it lasts. It is not what the add shows, more like a copy. Fingers crossed. Does blow well and, feels heavy built. If you have a air pump port, I think, 3.5mm x 1.35mm 90 Degree Right Angle DC Barrel Male Plug Jack Connector is what you want, it does output 24vdc, not 5vdc, probably a control voltage only but only longer support know. Kind of odd they don't just tell you.

Use of air assist gives cleaner engraving so fine print is more legible and cuts do not have burn marks (assuming the piece isn't sitting flat on a table/board). This was very easy to install on a Longer Ray5 10W laser. Simply remove the existing metal "pyramid" that is shielding the laser and replace with the nozzle in this kit. I used a very small fish tank aerator that we had sitting around with great results for engraving. More air, however, is needed for cutting. To accomplish that, I added an adapter to hook it to my shop air compressor (turned down to about 15 psi). Standard 1/4" OD tubing with push to connect adapters fit perfectly.

This works great and is easily adjusted or turned off to get just the right amount of air flow to reduce charing.

I honestly wish I could give this zero stars. I purchased the Longer air assist expecting it to improve my cutting performance, but it has been completely ineffective. The airflow is extremely weak—barely noticeable even when tested directly at the pump and nozzle. For a 20W laser, this unit simply does not provide enough airflow to make a meaningful difference. It does little to clear smoke, and as a result, cuts require multiple passes and come out charred and inconsistent. To make matters worse, the initial experience was already frustrating. When I first received the product, it wasn’t even sent with the correct nozzle. I had to contact support and then wait for a replacement part to be shipped from China, which delayed me even further. At this point, it feels like this product is more of a “starter accessory” than a functional tool for actual cutting. It may be fine for very light engraving, but for anyone expecting real performance—especially with a 20W machine—this is not it. Longer should seriously reconsider selling this as a viable air assist solution. It does not meet the expectations it sets, and it ends up costing users more time, frustration, and eventually more money to replace it. I would not recommend this to anyone.
