Super fun book for toddlers. I always buy this for a gift.

Gallop!: A Scanimation Picture Book (Scanimation Books)I purchased this for my 2 year old grandson and found myself and his mom enjoying it as much as he did. Accolades to the author and creator of this book along with another two books like it, Waddle and Swing, who thought up this unique process of actually seeing a horse gallop, a bird fly, a baseball player batting a ball and all the other fantastic moving pictures that go along with the simple text that makes these books a must have in every toddler's library. The book is specifically designed for young children to handle it without compromising the survival of the book. You can even wipe off any drips or food particles without ruining the pages. The pages are printed on glossy thick board material that makes it almost impossible to destroy. These three books are keepers and they look like they will last for years to be handed down to any new arrivals that come along. They are well worth the price and I encourage anyone who has a toddler in their life to buy it and watch their eyes widen in surprise when they open the books and can't put them down. Preschoolers can even read them perhaps with a little help since the text is simple, the words are large and printed on a light background which makes them very easy to see. The space between the words and sentences which consist of about 3 or 4 is perfect for children just starting to recognize letters and words.

My daughter is almost 5 and she loves this book. It's cute seeing the animals 'running" on each page.For younger kids, it's super sturdy and would be difficult to damage. Highly recommend!

Six months ago, I gave one of these to my 2 yo daughter (son has a Star Wars one) and it's been on her nightstand ever since! She still looks at it several times a week. Here are my thoughts:PROS- Amazing design on how the animation works; pretty easy to be mesmerized by it.- Even though it's not a board book, it's still sturdy enough to allow my 1 yo to play with it.- Perfect stocking stuffer or companion gift. I bought many of these and like to include it with any animal gift I give. I swear the parents love it more than the kids do.CONS- Due to the "magic" that has to occur, there really aren't that many pages and very little text.OVERALL- Love it! Here's a test for you: put this on your coffee table and see how many people pick this up. Lots of entertainment value.

Giving at a baby shower

My son lives this collection!He got “Waddle” as a gift and loved it, so I ordered “Gallop” and he likes it so much that he wants to read it everyday day.He is 3.5 years old and is memorized all the words of the books and likes to “read” by himself (he can recognize the words by it’s colors). Great stimulation to learn how to read!I just ordered “Swing” and I can’t wait to give to him!

My grandson LOVES these Scanamation books! We look at them over and over. He prefers these books over others!
