It's alive!
Good Alaska sourdough that I keep in the fridge for months and starts right up again. The container is perfect for a small part of my small fridge.

Awesome starter!
Shipping was great and quick. I have to admit that I didn't tend to mine very quickly once I received it, however, it didn't matter. This is a very strong starter. Mine was active by the second day already! So excited to bake with it.

Beginner Friendly Starter
This is a starter that I was able to bake with almost immediately. I didn't want to wait around to create my own starter and this Alaska starter has been amazing. I've made so many recipes including English muffins, boules, cinnamon rolls, and hamburger buns. I have no complaints and love my starter!

The replacement is working beautifully.
I followed the instructions that came with the Sourdough Starter, it just doesn't seem to work. Customer service is good, but I'm not impressed with the product at all. I double check the process with the advice from customer service, but still not seeing anything, not doubling or bubbles. 😞 I'll update my review after I receive the replacement the seller is kindly sending me. 🙏 UPDATE 3/20/2026: The seller [kindly] sent me a replacement, I received it on March 16th & I started to feed it that same day, by the next day it was looking so so nice. I was so excited. So far it has been doing great. I'm very pleased with it. I shared pics of the replacement sourdough started. I've been leaving the starter inside the microwave. I had it covered with cloth lid that came with a sourdough kit I bought from a different seller on Amazon, but on the 2nd day of feeding it got dirty from the started overflowing [I was so excited about], now I've it covered with coffee a filter & works great too. The video is of about 2 hours after today's afternoon feeding. 😊

Love love love these! Have bought several different strains and each one has been fantastic and noticeably different.

Sourdough is sa recommended bread. Try making it yourself.
I had not made sourdough for years. My friend a retired nurse practitioner got me started. My husband even helped. We had been to Alaska for our 50th anniversary and my friend wanted some sourdough. The only thing that I could find in Juneau or 3 other towns were packets. So I bought this and it has worked well.

100 yr old Alaskan sourdough starter
Came wet in a little plastic container, smell was good .. fed the first day and could see some action day 2 a bit more day 3 she ended up busting out the jar!!! Love it
