Sony Music Entertainment is pleased to announce another ten releases in its increasingly comprehensive series of Classical Masters. These new box sets contain classic interpretations by some of the most celebrated musicians of the 20th century. The recordings of three outstanding pianists are a central attraction of this batch of reissues. Often described as a musicians musician, Murray Perahia has a magic touch and his electric spontaneity is naturally caught in the studio, wrote the Penguin Guide. In the works of Schumann this quality of concentration is enormously valuable, and the results could hardly be more powerfully convincing. This new reissue collects all of Perahias solo Schumann along with his 1997 recording of the works for piano and orchestra with Claudio Abbado conducting the Berlin Philharmonic performed with refreshing eagerness unflagging strength of direction inexhaustible rhythmic buoyancy (Gramophone). There is also a very special bonus: the first release of a recital of Schumann lieder including the Op. 39 Liederkreis in which Murray Perahia accompanies Sir Peter Pears. It proved to be the great English tenors last recording, yet, observed The New York Times, his technical flexibility, warmth of spirit, superb diction and impeccable phrasing continue to excite admiration, even at age 70.

Schumann por Perahia
Buenas interpretaciones y grabaciones de la obra pianistica de Schumann por Perahia. Faltan algunas obras clave, y las obras concertisticas que acompañan al concierto no son demasiado interesantes. Me gustan más otras aproximaciones, como Horowitz o incluso Kempff.

sehr schöne Schumann Aufnahmen
CD 1 und 4 waren mir bereits bekannt. Die anderen Aufnahmen kannte ich noch nicht. Das Groß der Klavierkompositionen sind mir durch Aufnahmen von Horowitz, S. Richter, Claudio Arrau, Walter Gieseking und anderen bekannt. Gegen die Einspielungen habe ich keine Einwände. Hätte ich einen Wunsch offen würde ich mir eine Aufnahme der Kinderszenen mit Perahia wünschen. Leider ist diese nur über you tube erhältlich aber diese Aufnahme mit den Kommentierungen des Pianisten ist sehr vielversprechend. Leider ist er ja nun von CBS / Sony zu Deutsche Grammophon gewechselt. Zwar wurde Perahia in diesem Jahr 70 Jahre alt, aber wenn er sich gut gehalten hat und das sieht so aus, dann sollte eine Einspielung der Kinderzenen noch bis Karriereende drin sein. Bitte mich sofort informieren wenn es das gibt.Zusammenfassend: Perahia ist ein echter Schumannkenner. Dessen Zerrissenheit läßt er sogar beim "Faschingsschwank aus Wien" spüren. Alle Achtung. Also unbedingt zu empfehlen. Anhören lohnt sich wirklich.
