Was a good upgrade for me.
Works perfectly and was easy to set up. The signal strength is better than my old one, making it a much-needed upgrade. Bought it to support additional security cameras outside, and it handles the job well. Definitely recommend.

Supports OpenWrt
While the original Cudy WR3000 had been "upgraded" to a v2 that does not support OpenWrt, this model retains the MediaTek Filogic 820 SoC that works with OpenWrt. Installation was a breeze, and made it so much more functional than the stock configuration. This is the real deal.

Labels shows EU version but firmware and specs are US
I live in Türkiye and i seriously wanted this product as US spec devices has extra channels, higher transmit power and strong openwrt support. Thus i ordered this to a friend visiting USA. Router arrived today and it was disappointing to see EU version labels on the box and routers. (Adapter was US type) That meant that channels are limited an transmit power was lower. A US firmware update would not solce it due to some eprom etc. based region lock. Only openwrt would solve it. I just set it up. Quite unexpectedly, device details showed US version firmware. It seems like Cudy USA has already service updated the devices for US spec. I can see 5G channels beyond 149 and transmit power is really high. They should have put a US sticker on the labels, but it is still good to have it working.

Best value router for Openwrt firmware
This is my second Cudy router. Really like the philosophy of the company offering good specs and value for their lineup compared to other more well known brands. I use mainly Unifi or Omada APs for my wireless networking. However I have some media devices that need a wireless bridge and so far Openwrt has been the best for this. On this model I have it set as a bridge for my HDHomerun, and also running a wireguard server on it. The performance of wg is about 300mbps. More than enough for my needs to access my home LAN when I am away. As long as Cudy keeps to their philosophy and keep bringing new routers and keep prices low that continue to work with Openwrt, then I will keep buying and recommending them.

Bargain
Absolutely love this thing, will pull a steady 1gbps over Wi-Fi real world use. Connection is usually 2400gbs so 1400 each direction. I immediately installed openwrt, cudy makes it easy it's a steal of a router.

Good Device for OpenWRT Users
Works well with OpenWRT. Cuddy provides support for refreshing with OpenWRT and there is good support from the OpenWRT community. On top of that, Cuddy seems to be using a common platform for a lot of their devices, so setting up a bigger-than-one-device network goes pretty smoothly.

Flashing Cudy to OpenWrt: Tricky Setup, Massive Speed Upgrade
The stock firmware isn’t OpenWrt—as much as I wish it were. If you're planning to flash it, just be careful: hunting down the correct OpenWrt build on Cudy's site is tricky (I almost downloaded the wrong file and bricked my router), and the initial sysupgrade process takes some patience. Once you get vanilla OpenWrt running, though, performance is night and day compared to Cudy's stock software.

Entry level power usery
OpenWRT flash provided by Cudy works great! This is the brand to look to if you want to get into open source. I'm a bit biased because I updated from a 15 year old router but this travels from our first floor up to our 3rd with no issue and I can catch a signal around the dang block. Not a good one, but it exists.

Robust
Rock solid so far. Brought this as it is openWRT compatible but haven’t bothered yet as the stock firmware is very easy and robust.

Fast, easy to install. Supports openwrt. Easy interface.
Like others who say they should have bought a new router a long time ago, so should I have. Using Wifi on this router gives me faster speed than using ethernet on my previous router. I don't even need to use ethernet (wired internet) with this. I got version 1.0 so I can install regular OpenWRT if I want to but I will stay with the default firmware for now. It has options for VPN, Adguard etc but im fine without it for now. Easy to set up. Remember to update firmware as soon as you get it.
