Awesome brad nailer at a good price
I recently replaced a bunch of flooring in our house and needed to install about 250 feet of shoe mold. Instead of trying to nail all of that by hand I decided to purchase a brad nailer. After a lot of research and price comparisons I decided to purchase this Bostitch brad nailer. I couldn't have been happier. It worked flawlessly and made the job so much easier than nailing manually. It is a great value for the money given how easy and fast it made the job. I had planned to sell it when I was done but liked it so much I decided to keep it and have used it several times.

Great new features make this Bostitch Pneumatic brad nailer the best one I have ever purchased!
This new model of the Bostitch 18 gauge pneumatic brad nailer is absolutely the best one I have ever purchased. The newly designed smart point head is so much easier for placement of the brad nails. There is a newly designed part where you can remove jammed nails that is so much easier than the old design. High quality for a reasonable price. I believe this nailer will last a long time! If you need a new nailer, this is the one to buy. I am extremely satisified with the purchase of this Bostitch Pneumatic Nailer.

Excellent nailer! Replaced the pneumatic male coupler stem with a 360 deg swivel
The "BOSTITCH Brad Nailer, 18GA, Model BTFP12233" works as hoped and has a high 85% satisfaction rating, higher than a similar Dewalt model. Being my first brad nailer, it took a little practice on scrap woods to determine the optimal "Dial-A-Depth Control" settings and air pressure, especially with soft woods. Note that the current model does not have the trigger lock control action nor its icon embossed next to the 'trip mode' dial as described in the Operation and Maintenance Manual, requiring extra care when changing modes with the air attached. Some other buyer reviews noted the straight air hose quick coupler stem did not allow changing the hose angle, alternatively, while preparing ahead with my new nailer, the male quick couple stem was removed and replaced with an aluminum (light weight) full 360 degree pneumatic swivel joint to which the original male coupler stem was attached, voila! problem solved, see Photo #1. There are many types of swivel fittings available on Amazon, choose the one best for you. Consequently, the molded plastic case did not have sufficient room for the extra swivel joint and stem together, not allowing the case to close and latch properly. To make room for the extra swivel and stem, a small butane torch was used to gently heat and soften the plastic in the vicinity below and above the swivel and stem, then closing the case to allow the softened plastic to mold itself around the swivel and stem for a perfect fit, see photo #2. Note the swivel and stem were rotated 90 degrees for the best fit. After cooling, the case closes and latches properly. Mark V.

Loving it. Wish I had this years ago
This tool has worked great! Very happy with my choice. Primarily used when gluing up multiple plywood boxes of various dimensions from 12" to 40". I chose this model for the quality and size of brads it accepts (it allows smaller nails than many other brands)

Reliable performance at a good price.
I bought this as a temporary replacement for my Makita brad nailer that cost four times as much. The Makita is older technology and I think I'll go on using that whenever it comes back from the repair shop. That said, this one has been working well. It doesn't have a dry-fire lockout, which I find a little annoying, but otherwise it's an oilless design and you can, with some experience, reliably put a brad exactly where you want it. The depth setting mechanism seems a little lightweight (plastic) but in use, the nails all get countersunk or set flush to the correct depth, tIke after time, so long as you hold the gun correctly when firing it. I haven't had a jam or misfire yet. You can place brads in tight places in moulding reliefs because of the narrow tip. The plastic tip reliably prevents nose from marring of the workpiece. In terms of performance, there's nothing to complain about. The gun is noticeably lighter than my old Makita. The firing noise is the same as any other brad nailer, so I disagree with another reviewer who thought the noise was louder. Given the low price of this gun, I think its performance is first rate. I would have given it five stars if it had a dry-fire lockout instead of the silly little window that shows the gun is empty after the brads run out and you've shot blank holes in the workpiece.

Great upgrade from older Bostitch nailer
I purchased my first Bostitch BT-200 18 ga nail gun about 25 years ago and it’s worked great trimming out 5-6 houses and many other woodworking projects. Recently the older gun started to misfire a lot on the longer nails and I decided to upgrade to this new Smart Point model and I’m very impressed. The new tip design is a big improvement as you can actually see the exact spot it will drive a nail, and the fact that you don’t have to first depress the nose piece makes it a lot easier to use with less marring on the wood. After shooting a nail, the nail hole is crisp and noticeably smaller than the older model. This gun has functioned perfectly so far over a few hundred nails, but another impressive difference is they completely re-engineered the driving mechanism in the nose of the gun and if a nail ever would jamb - now you can open the whole drive mechanism up easily with no tools to clear it, which compared to the older models is a huge improvement. The dial of depth adjustment is very nice and I’ve gotten perfectly set nails in a variety of materials at 90 psi on my compressor. Overall, I’m very impressed and happy I upgraded as sometimes you don’t realize how much they’ve improved these tools over the years.
