Q: Does this product help with sleep? If so, how and when do I use it for better sleep?

Hi there, thanks for your question! There is some evidence suggesting red and near infrared light therapy may be helpful for sleep through its potential impact on melatonin. There have been studies showing increased melatonin in blood circulation following red/NIR light exposure. The studies used intranasal light exposure, but some theorize that the benefits could be had from simply irradiaiting the bloodstream as well. With this being said, a treatment somewhere on your body a few hours prior to sleep might be beneficial. I'd shoot for a dose of less than 10J (you'd get this in about 2 minutes from 6 inches away). Q: Does it get hot? I read a review that it does..

I have only used it a few times after a laser treatment on my face. My doctor used one last year after the same procedure and it made the healing go more quickly. It was not hot. Since I used it on my face, there was only a slight warmth and an intensity of light through my eyelids. I used it for 10 to 15 minutes a time and it was not at all uncomfortable. I purchased my own light so I had the ability to use it in between treatments.
