This is a Easy to Install, Quick to Print, Reliable Printer for Anybody Not Just Small Office Teams
OMG . . . It has been a while since I have be "excited" about a printer but this HP LaserJet Pro MFP 3101sdw is it! It was so easy to install. It gave you a choice of bluetooth or ethernet but I decided on the ethernet because it was less troublesome in case of blackouts, etc. The documents print quickly, the print is clear, it’s quiet, prints quickly, and it really is a great value for the money. Setting up the printer was super easy because it was intuitive of what I was doing. I am not a small office team or anything like that -- I just wanted a great, reliable printer and this is it. I highly recommend it.

Fast and efficient printing and scanning!
I LOVE this printer!! I am done with inkjets and tanks . Fast printing, easy installation, Wireless connectivity.. That is actually stable! Nice size and design. I have not had a single hiccup with it. The bug ridden HP SMART software is the biggest issue with printers showing offline continually! But this has been an issue long before this printer... I highly recommend this model!!

Effortless Installation
UPDATE: 2 months later: Still no issues at all with the HP printer. Many years ago, I always bought HP printers. This one is proving itself reliable, fast, quiet. We had a power outage for several hours; the HP went right back on the Internet with no problem. The old Brother struggled with this from day 1. I've copied documents and printed with no problems. Still 5 stars. I bought the HP from Amazon as "used-like new", something I do often. I've done this for years and I've never been disappointed. I replaced a brother laser printer that's 10+ years old. I've always had an issue with the wifi. I chose the HP for its "wifi healing" property. Installation was effortless and intuitive. I plugged it in, turned it on, and followed the prompts. It connected to the Wifi immediately. I printed a test document wirelessly, and it printed immediately, crisp and clear. I have a 3 story house, so I've printed a test document from the 2nd floor the next day. It also printed immediately and clearly. I scanned and copied a document, and it was done quickly. The copy was as crisp as the original. If anything should change, I will update this review. Right now, 5 stars.

Really a 4.5 Star Review
I've had this printer for more than a year now, and I love it. I've put it through it's paces numerous times when I've need to print off just 1 or 100 or more pages all a time. Being able to print from USB to the printer is amazing. Sending a doc from my laptop or my phone is very valuable, especially when I only want one page of a 20 page PDF. SCAN AUTO-FEEDER: I love the auto doc feeder for the scanner. It works well, and I have learned not to put a huge number of pages in the feeder as too many will cause paper jams. I recommend no more than 25 sheets or so, this will help prevent paper jams. NOISE: some have stated it's noisy. The noise when considering printer speed is reasonable IMHO. If you're looking for something super quiet, you're going to be spending upwards of $500. There are always trade-offs. I've had my printer print 100 pages or more from PDF files using the duplex feature (front and back) and the noise has never been annoying, especially when compared to the dog next door barking incessantly all day long. There is a feature in the settings that allows you to set it for a softer noise emission, but I've never noticed much of a difference. TONER: This is the one thing I did not like about the printer. HP now uses software to check if you're using their toner or an off brand. I can't remember for certain, but I believe the printer will stop working until you insert an HP toner cartridge. At the very least, I'm pretty sure it will void the printer warranty. I've been using a generic toner for FAR less money than HP's toner. Now, because of HP encoding the chip to confirm authenticity, I just decline to do the firmware updates as IIRC the software can read the chip to see whether or not you have the HP authorized chip on the toner. As a result, I just decline the firmware updates and use the cheaper toner, which I've used for years and it's NEVER given me any headaches. Literally NONE, and I used it on my previous HP, which I retired because I needed duplexing, scanner, and auto-feed capability. WI-FI CONNECTIVITY - I have had issues with the Internet dropping from the printer, and I've had to reset it. However, YouTube has a number of very helpful videos about this specific printer (and others) with great tips or step-by-step instructions or both when it comes to fixing connectivity problems. But it's important to note that whenever your internet connection does any kind of surge (even though you might not notice if your working) it can occasionally cause the disconnect. I've had to spend an hour sometimes reconnecting because I keep forgetting to save the links to the helpful video I used. When looking for videos, most will refer to this printer, but even the fix all printers or FDW printer videos will work. Basically, if you follow the set-up directions by reading them before you do anything, you're likely to save time. Overall, I this is a good printer. I've always bought HP printers because they've lasted me a long time. The longest was about 12 years before I bought a more updated model. That said, as time moves on and technology becomes more complex, all the components now in printers makes it more likely to make it seem like the printer's not any good. It's not necessarily the printer, it's the technology getting more complicated. So take poor reviews with a grain of salt. After one year, it's still going strong, and it's been through one house move. I did keep the box though to pack it in. Might be advisable to hang onto the box in case it does fail and you need to ship it for warranty coverage.

This HP Laser Jet Pro printer is not going back.
I needed a printer to replace my HP Envy 7645 printer. The latter used ink cartridges. It lasted many many years before it died. RIP. After research, I decided to purchase a printer made by HP. I am biased. I like HP because their laptops and desktops computers never crashed on me. I have used them for over 2 decades. The above printer had high praise from Amazon reviewers. I took the plunge and bought it. It is a BLACK AND WHITE printer only. Not a problem for me. The set up is very straightforward. I used WI-FI for wireless connection. Go online to HP's website to install the drivers, and voila! Done! The quality of the print job is better than the Envy 7645. It is also faster and works great. I would recommend it to everyone.

Way better than the costly ink cassette printers.
This is a very nice printer, exponentially better than the inexspensive ink printers I've always owned. Fast yet quite printing. Set up was a breeze, easy to use, immediate conductivity.

This is absolute junk.
Junk. Can't print or scan without creating an HP account. Can't print or use without turning on location services. Avoid at all costs. Update: You have to register and turn on location services in order to use the HP software. There is no 2-side scanning, and the document feeder only handles one page at a time. The document scanner does not work half the time. HP software UI forces a bunch of clicking in order to process a document and it automatically assigns a category to the file name like Document or Receipt, which is incorrect 100% of the time. In order to get a 2 sided scan, you need to go thru 14 clicks, 2 pushes thru the document feeder and rename 2 files. Why can’t it just save the document with a date and time stamp?!?! This is the worst MFP I have ever seen.

Convenient wireless printing function
Good all-in-one printer. Easy setup. Good printing quality, clear, sharp and fine. The wireless printing function is convenient for printing from multiple devices in same house/family/office without the need of a printing cable. When replacing toners be careful that the printer uses toner cartridge with chips which can detect the toner cartridge type and may reject some none HP compatible cartridges.
