Is this a genuine apple cable?  will it fast charge on a power delivery port running ios 11.4?

It seems you may get a counterfeit one with Amazon.  I ordered one and it does not fast charge my iPad Pro so it is a fake one compared to the real cable.

I had to return it and buy a real one directly from Apple instead which had a different box.

The product very much DOES match the picture, and the description for that matter. USB-C is not USB-A, which is what the majority of the connectors are out there. Your iPhone came with a USB-A to Lightening connector. If you have a Mac made in the last few years, it will NOT have a USB-A port on it; only USB-C. This is for people with newer Macs who want to plug in their i-products without an adapter. Very few cars have USB-C adapters built in; the only one I've encountered is newer Mercedes. A Toyota will undoubtedly have a USB-A.  As for waste, USB-C is vastly superior to USB-A and every other USB connector, in part because it is smaller, and in part because it is omni-directional--no more flipping it up and down four times trying to get it to plug in. Whether we like it or not, it is the future.

The one I got was a genuine apple cable. I would just be careful who you are buying it from. If you buy it from amazon then I think you should be fine. If you buy it from a 3rd party seller, do some homework on them before buying from them.
