What is there to say about pure magnesium bars designed to start fires? These are what they say they are. They appear to be the quality and and purity as stated. They do scrap off easily enough with a knife, and burn extremely hot to start fires. I'm not sure I would shave this into a copper firepit bowl, as it burns about 1000 degrees F above the melting point of copper. However, onto a log, or in a fire pit while camping or even a brick fireplace, then these would work great. I love the convent size: Large enough to hold and scrape safely without being too large and bulky. A bundle of 3 is a great value and will last for a very long time or be available in multiple places or with multiple people.

Good quality Magnesium rods. To clarify, these are not flint rods to create sparks with a piece of steel. You shave some material from these rods onto your starting pile then spark a flint onto the shavings. When the shavings catch, they burn very hot to help start a fire in damp or breezy conditions.
