Good quality and good value
I read a bunch of reviews before purchasing this filter. It's being used on an Olympus 12-40mm F2.8 Pro lens when filming video. The filter is well packaged, comes in a travel tin plus a voucher for planting trees to offset your carbon footprint. Image quality seems fine and have used on pro shoots.Very pleased with the purchase and would buy this brand again.

Gobe ND8
This is my 4th Gobe filter, and I swear by them all. Incredibly well presented with build quality to match, so often cheaper filters' threads are bad and can easily ruin the thread on the lens, but I've had no issues with any of Gobe's products. With regard to the ND8 there is no noticeable colour cast and no reduction in image quality as long as you make sure to keep it clean and dust free (easy with the microfiber cloth that comes in the box!) Although I have Gobe's variable NDX I still use the ND8 in situations where I don't have time to play around to find the right exposure, its very handy to know that with the ND8 you will have 3 stops of reduction every time, no trial and error that you may have with a variable ND.

Solid product with environmental awareness
After reading reviews of Gobe (currently named Urth) and their emphasis on environmental impacts, I decided to support them:) Of course I needed an ND filter to fit my needs in the first place, but no doubt it's the company's effort that convinced me to go for this one. And I'm very pleased with the purchase decision and the product!I noticed some reviews about visual impairment on the variable ND version, so I went for this fixed 3 stop one. It does the job pretty well on my Fujinon 18mm f/1.4 so far.

Decent bit of kit
Nice filter that feels good to handle and allows you to remove glare or slow the shutter speed if (for example) you want that smooth effect on running water. As it's only a 3 stop reduction I find I can leave it on the lens for most shots and compensate with the camera.

Colour balance
I measured exactly 3 stops exposure reduction from the 8x ND filter, as expected.I checked the colour balance against a Sekonic grey card illuminated by an LED panel. The measured colour temperature increased from 5,600°K to 6,000°K after adding the filter. The Photoshop (ACR) measured tint increased from +5 to +12 (a shift towards magenta end of the scale).Automatic white balance should compensate for this or could be adjusted in software.Including a known white or grey card in a pre-shot would help.

High quality ND filter
Very well made ND filter, beautifully packaged with effective storage method as shown in the photo. Screws onto lens with obviously high quality threads (i.e. no looseness or scratching sounds). Very pleased with ND results and I have already purchased a second (46mm) one for another lens. I like the fact that Gobe plant 5 trees for each filter purchase!
