I used these to make slow release watering bags. I placed one cup of crystals in a sand bag, then placed that in a 5 gallon bucket, and then I filled the bucket with water. After 30-45 minutes I tied off the bags and placed them on directly on the soil around my fruit trees. They appear to consistently absorb around 3 gallons of water in that amount of time. Combined with the surrounding mulch these are helping me efficiently use water in our desert climate. I'm very pleased.

Works great. I used on an area of new sod that kept turning brown and this helped keep things moist until the grass became established. Do use caution though, can get slippery. And if you spill just a little on a walkway and the sprinklers hit it, it can be very slick to step on.But works very well and saves you a lot of time watering. Probably paid for itself in a couple of days with how much I was having to water prior

Lesson learned the hard way: I used way too many crystals in my new above ground flower bed. Got the bed ready to plant, watered it, watered it again the next day. Looked good. Then it rained four days. And my flower bed look like dirt Jell-O. I took enough out to fill another bed, some big pots, and I’ve still got to much in that bed. I’ve got to remove some jello dirt, then add soil before I plant anything there. The stuff works. Don’t use too much. I bought a 5 pound bucket. It hydrated enough that it would’ve almost half filled the bed of a small pickup truck. And I didn’t use it all.

this really holds the water. here in Texas it gets so hot and the garden can quickly start wilting. I mixed these in with my planting and it has really helped. we are under a watering restriction where we can only water 1 day a week so this has been a huge help keeping my plants going between my weekly wattering day.

Placed half of a scoop, ?Tsp?, in a jar. Filled the jar with water, and absorbed all the water and added to pot. Excellent for keeping roots moist. Good value. Size large, but don't need to buy for a long time.

Add water gels right up. Works as expected. Little bit goes along way. Don’t over do it.
