Shark HydroVac MessMaster Wet Dry Vacuum & Mop Combo, AW261

I hate washing floors and delegate that job to someone else in the house. But it wasn't getting done and I needed a quick but easy answer. I am a diehard dyson fan but was not going to shell out nearly a $1000 for their version of this. Bought my first Shark and I doubt it will be my last. This thing is incredible! I have 3 dogs including a lab who sheds his entire coat, every day, year round. I had very little confidence that this wet vac was going to be able to handle the hair. While I still vacuum before using this, the hair is never ending, and this vac can get it with ease. I love the smell of the spring clean floor cleaner. We have a large home that is entirely hard floors: tile, LVP, and original hardwoods. It cleans them all fantastically and the dirty water is gross. It is doing a much better job than our spin mop system and the super expensive Norwex system. Love that it's battery! I can do the whole house with charge to spare (3000 sqft of flooring) but the water reservoir is small and has to be refilled 2.5 times to get the whole house done. The dirty water needs to be emptied at each refill, but it's all easy to do so not really a huge issue. Best part is when you're done cleaning the dirty water holder is super easy to empty out and clean for the next time. The vac goes back on it's charger and pressing power sends it into a quick self clean mode. This is particularly handy in my case because it brings all the dog hair off the roller and pushes it to the plastic cover that goes over the roller. I pop that off, clean off the dog hair and I'm done. I did all the floors in my house (3000 sqft) in about 30 minutes. BUY THIS RIGHT NOW.

Update: This item is faulty and is no longer available from the manufacturer. Evidently, it has a problem with the valve so the machine thinks the clean water reserve is empty even when it is not. Via the manufacturer warranty, they offered to replace it with one of lesser value. Best to buy from a different company, IMO. I used this today for the first time. I am absolutely blown away by how easy it is to use and understand. The amount of schmutz it picked up from my hard floor was stunning, as is how clean my floor now is. The height of the head is small enough to easily navigate under a standard kitchen cupboard (AKA toe kick or kick space). The description doesn't state this, but it swivels so nicely that navigation, especially into and around corners is surprisingly easy and a total pleasure. It practically pulls itself forward so there is little need to push, and pulling it back toward yourself is easy as well. A couple of caveats: after rinsing, I would not leave the brush in the machine. The instructions state that you should let it sit in the tray to dry out for 24 hours before using again. Since this comes with a second brush, I've removed the brush and the two water containers to let them thoroughly dry out before using again. I gently squeezed the brush with a clean rag to get most of the moisture out of it and then fluffed it up before leaving it to dry. The other caveat is that after using to the point where the clean water tank is about ½ to ⅔ empty, it sometimes registers as completely empty which causes the machine to shut off. I found that this is due to the handle being tipped back at an angle (like when you're pushing the machine forward) so that the bottom of the clean water tank has little to no water touching it. Restarting it with the handle in a more upright position works just fine. It's a bit of a design flaw IMO, but not a game changer. I highly recommend this machine for anyone who loves clean floors but hates mopping them!

I have had this Hydro vac for a few months now and this is my honest review. I read all the other reviews and took them into consideration and frankly, I think most of the things people are complaining about are pretty silly. We have two cats and hard floors in our downstairs. We use this item twice a week to do the floors. I would highly recommend this product. It picks up most debris on the floor aside from a few larger things like big leaves. It’s amazing how dirty the floors get even with cleaning them twice a week. The product is very easy to use. I love the swivel feature. No it doesn’t clean right up to the baseboards. There’s about an a half inch gap but that being said I would much rather have to get out my Rubbermaid reveal dust mop, and do along the baseboards once a week then to have to drag out the vacuum twice a week. Someone also said that it leaves the floor damp well yeah so does mopping. It’s not intended to completely dry the floors they still need about a minute to dry after using the Hydro vac. Another reviewer said that it’s loud it’s not really loud. It’s actually much quieter than an actual vacuum, but it does have a motor so yes it’s going to make noise. Another reviewer complained because they have multiple dogs and multiple cats and said that it doesn’t clean up the pet hair. I can’t really speak on that, but I would say if you have a lot of animal fur in your house you should definitely get a robot vac to handle the fur. This item is not intended for that purpose. All in all I highly I really like this product. I have not experienced any of the issues that other reviewers mentioned. We run the clean cycle after every use and rinse out the roller. I take a damp cloth and wipe any residue from where the roller sits after the clean cycle is ran.

this is a great product and it is so easy to use. I have 5 dogs in the house so i clean my floor every single day. this makes it so much easier to do. picks up the pet hair with ease, true to size.

I love my wet vac but there is serious flaws with the system. •The most obvious one will be their proprietary cleaning solution, the solution works great but is very expensive, hard to find in stock, and difficult to substitute with home mixtures. Note that using a solution other than their proprietary blend can cause issues with your appliance like forming a mineral scab over the inlet where the tank is inserted (its an easy fix if you know about it). •The second issue, which is serious, is the sensors faulting and causing your appliance to stop working until you disassemble the whole thing and splice together some wires AS A WORK AROUND, not a fix. The vacuum is very useful and its saved me plenty of time and labor but the issues mentioned above would likely prevent me from buying again. For the design team, you should skip out on the proprietary cleaning solution requirement, or make a common house hold mixture table for the consumer, and of course you must fix that sensor issue or perhaps add a port to the appliance that allows one to get logs on the failed components for easy troubleshooting

Works but can use some tuning. It only has two modes. Wet clean and wetter clean. I wish it had a few more options. Although I do really enjoy this product. I find myself cleaning my floors more often. But to have to clean the machine every single time after I use it is annoying. Matter of fact as I type this I am reminded I need to clean it since my teenager cleaned the floors earlier. I wish it was easier. But it’s not self emptying. I find myself having to stick my fingers down the hose, in the suction part of the front and cleaning it out completely to make sure my pet hairs don’t stay in there. It gets clogged with pet fur pretty easy from my pitbull. If I didn’t clean my floors so often I don’t see how this vacuum could withstand my dog fur, and my house is decently clean as far as visible pet fur. Anyway I would recommend this product for ease of use. But it could be a better product.

Hands down the best out of three I purchased. I returned a Tineco and a very expensive Bissell before purchasing this Shark. It has great suction. It appears to have a small clean water tank but it doesn't use a lot of water. With a little extra effort you can use the boost to help lift and clean the tough spots. 100% recommend!

I missed the return window by a day . DO NOT BUT THIS . The come outweigh the pros no matter how much I clean it the roll ends up smelling like an old wet rag Pro -It’s easy to use -Not to noisy my kids can handle the noise -It’s not to heavy I expected it to be -It’s pretty slim not bulky at all - Cons -Suction sucks -You have to consistently empty out the water tank If you forget to it will leak out . -You have to slowly walk for it can clean everything up or else you’ll just push things around -It releases a lot of water so make sure you throughly dry all the part before next use or else you’ll end up pushing around dirty water - it doesn’t do much scrubbing so it doesn’t clean up messy messes well at all -you have to literally still clean everything yourself IT IS NOT SELF CLEANING . you have to take everything apart and rinse it . Then if you want everything to dry you have to lay everything out . Also food you vacuum up get caught and gunks up where the roller spins . - it will leave your floors really wet like slippery wet . It still dries in a decent amount of time though Overall I’m still keeping because I still kind of like the ease of it But it is not worth the money for the amount of work you still have to put in

LOVE IT! Here are a few things to know... Pros -Farm house approved! We are a cat, dog, muddy boots from the barn house, this has been a great quick and easy clean after our chaos crew! -Baby quiet! My baby falls asleep to the sound of this vaccum -easy to clean, just add it to the routine! - light and easy to use with one arm! -leaves house smelling amazing and fresh! -love the self cleaning mode! Cons -Minor leaking after use,a quick swipe with a paper towel not a big deal but be mindful - minor streaking not a perfect application on the floor, not enough to impead performance -not designed for large amounts of fur (nor was I expecting that) -Be mindful of things like rocks and small plastic pieces ( scratching the floor) Over all very happy with this product, makes spills, accidents and daily cleaning much easier! I love that the kiddo and animals aren't phased by it and it is easy to take apart for maintenance! This isn't a runaround as fast as you can vaccum, for it to give the best results just walk a little slower. That being said saves much more time than sweeping and mopping, it dries fast and has been kind to my laminate and tile flooring!
