Good as far as it goes
I struggled between three and four stars in this review. This butter dish is a good butter dish that is exactly as described. I like that it is BPA free and that it is dishwasher safe. The design that is molded into the plastic of the lid helps to make it easier to grab, and the lid fits over the base in either of its positions (traditional or recessed). There is plenty of room on the dish for butter. The only thing wrong with it is that the main reason I was interested in a Tupperware butter dish is that I wanted a butter dish that would seal securely, both so the butter would stay fresher and especially because I wanted a butter dish for daily use that could be grabbed by the lid without worrying that the contents would end up on my kitchen floor. This is not that butter dish. In the traditional position the lid does stay in place when I pick it up, but it doesn't do this at all when the base is flipped. And although it stays in place, there is no traditional Tupperware seal. I went to the Tupperware site, and they caution against picking it up by the lid. So I have a butter dish that is good for daily use, but without the one feature I really wanted. I decided to give them the four stars because I assumed there would be a seal; they did not promise this feature.

perfect!
This butter dish is just what I was looking for. I trust the brand and that it's BPA free. The lid protects my butter from stray insects that might get in the house while being easy to lift off without having to pick the container up.It's similar to a traditional butter dish and lid but without the fragility of porcelain.I also love that it's dishwasher safe! the last one I had was supposed to be top dishwasher safe but the plastic became brittle after a while.

Great Quality - not airtight
This is a nice butter dish. My only complaint with it is that its not really air-tight so I worry about the safety of the butter if its in there for more than a couple days at room temperature. Would be sufficient to keep fridge smells out of the butter if stored in the fridge however.

It failed me
The one thing I wanted is a lid that closed ... somehow, I thought that would be a given with Tupperware. While it has other features ... BPA free, handles on the sides, useable both as a flat tray and inverted with a rim and able to fit European size butter, none were as important to me as being able to grab it from the fridge from the top and not have the butter fall on the floor. It's the whole reason I ordered Tupperware. I thought the design would be perfect and they are known for well-sealing items. This sadly, is the one Tupperware container that doesn't actually seal. It closes, so odors don't get in, but you will end up with butter on the floor if you don't carry it from the bottom.

Tupperware
Nice Tupperware butter dish that will hold a pound of butter. Blue bottom and a white plastic lid. Similar to the older style of Tupperware butter dish but this lid has a curved top versus the flat top of years gone by. The older style had a tighter fitting lid. This lid sets on easily and lifts off easily for ease of use. It doesn’t have a tight seal. The price was cheaper than buying it directly from the Tupperware dealer I normally deal with. Great find!

Larger than expected, but okay
I thought that sice this was a Tupperware item that it would tightly seal as all their containers do. This is not the case. The bottom has a raised rim all around and the top does fit nicely around it and rests on a ledge. It seems to do a good job at keeping air out, too, but it doesn't have that famiar seal. The raised rim, too, makes it a little difficult to get a slice of butter off of the dish as you can't just slide it off like you would with a glass dish. The build quality is good and should last many years. All in all this is a pretty good container.

Large butter dish
This is a nice butter dish and I love Tupperware for its value and performance. The reason for four stars here is that the lid doesn’t seal. It sits on the base nicely but you cannot pick it up by its lid. I guess I expected some sort of a seal so you could at least lift it by its lid. It will keep the butter fresh in the frig but you can’t really toss this in the ice chest for a camping weekend. Only if you’re 100% certain it can remain upright all the time. The color is cute but I’m kind of disappointed overall. I didn’t expect it to seal like normal Tupperware but expected some sort of “grab” or fit to the lid and base.

Great for those larger butter sticks like Kerrygold or cream cheese!
This is a real Tupperware butter keeper. I also use it for cream cheese sometimes. It can hold two regular sticks of butter or it can hold a large stick like a Kerrygold or other European butter. Ilike this holder and I feel like it keeps my butter tasting fresh.
