Great to have in case of emergency!
When you walk your dog on the same path people walk horses fed high doses of ivermectin, and your dog decides eating their poo is a good idea, you wind up with a pooch with ivermectin toxicity! Now that I know that is a problem, I have this antidote on hand. If the dog decides to go to town on road apples again, I feed him this and I prevent an expensive veterinarian appointment - or worse. Of course now that I have it, the dog will never do that again.

WHY SO HARD TO USE AND NO GUIDANCE?!!
So i bought this because it was fairly inexpensive and I thought gel charcoal would be the easiest form of charcoal to use. I originally looked into tablets but for my 65 pound dog the dose (on the lower end of the recommended dose) she was going to have to take like 123 tablets which is ridiculous. The emergency vet near my home is closing and being that it's so difficult to find a vet to see your pet in an emergency I decided to go ahead and buy this to have on hand in case of an emergency. Other than coming with zero suggestions on how to actually utilize this tube it seemed ok until I finally ended up having to purchase a $13 caulk gun (29 oz one) and have my fiance jerry rig the plunger off another standard caulk gun we had because the 29 ounce cailk gun plunger was too big to fit inside the charcoal tube. So it was quite the ordeal. It's also pretty bulky to store now because I had my fiance load it up so I didn't have to hassle around with it in a panic (see pic).....I suppose it might have been possible to like shove a wooden spoon handle or some long object in the opening (where it honestly should have come with a plunger but didn't) and force the charcoal up and out the top but I wasnt willing to test this during an emergency so i just bought the caulk gun so I didn't have to worry about it. Who knows how difficult the charcoal would be to come out the top and it's not like I want to break the seal and give it a test run so it's all dried out if I actually needed it a year from now. I kind of wish I had just bought a different brand that already came in self explanatory easy to use packaging. The only thing that would make me re-buy this if I ever needed to is the fact that I spent $13 on a caulk gun for it and already have it.

Activated charcoal gel
I bought for my goats, but can be for any animal. Large, tube, can be messy, if using it without help. i found transferring the gel into a smaller syringe worked better, for me.I would buy again

These are super large containers-not suitable for first aid kit
These containers are super large and not suitable for a normal size pet first aid kit. These also do not qualify for return. Beware if you are ordering these with thoughts of including in a pet kit. Also an applicator device, sold separately must be used. These are about the size of a caulking tube.

My puppy got bit by a copperhead snake and I gave him some of this and she was well in minutes.
I got this gel in case of accidental poisoning for my livestock and chickens but I ended up using it to save my puppy's life. The pup was following me as I did chores and when I lifted a piece of tin a Copperhead snake was under it, the pup dove in after the snake wanting to play with it before I could stop her. The snake bit her and I killed the snake but my pup was in bad shape, she began foaming at the mouth and laying limp in my arms like she was dying in a matter of seconds. I ran in the house got some of the activated charcoal gel and put some in her mouth and on the bite and I really did not think this was going to work. Then I called the vet, then went to get the pet carrier and by the time I got back with it (about ten minutes) the pup was sitting up like nothing was wrong with her! I gave her some more charcoal gel a few hours later and applied more to the bite and did it again in the morning and she is just fine and back to her happy go lucky self.

Absolute lifesaver, if messy
This is an absolute lifesaver with horses, and prevented a vet bill after a recent feed room break-in. I will never not have this on hand for emergencies. You need a caulking gun for this really or it's a pain to give and will make a mess, but well worth the effort.

Did not work for my needs, but customer service was good
Did not work for my needs, but customer service was good. I was able to return the unused product when it did not match the description, and the customer service agent was friendly and helpful.
