Nelson 818653-4002 Rain Train Traveling Sprinkler, Cast Iron

This is my third one..always bought the cast iron one. It works great. Great, dependable coverage and the auto stop option works reliably well. Must be good because I keep buying them over the last 40 years. Thanks Nelson.

My son in law has one and swears by it. At first I wasn’t so sure but once you figure out how to make it work best, through trial and error, it gets the job done without a lot of labor and baby sitting. I’m looking forward to years of use.

This thing is HEAVY ohh man. I like it and it works well. I have decent water pressure and I keep it on high and it moves through the back yard reasonably well. Tilting where the water comes out allows you to adjust how far it sprays the water but it gets a good amount of water on the ground. I find that it doesn't do corners very well and if you do need to turn it should be wide.

I just happened to buy this sprinkler during a year of drought. My new sod made it because of this sprinkler. I’m not gonna want to see my water bill from a summer like this, but the tractor pulled it off with ease. I had a couple of these years ago and I got rid of them because I was putting in a sprinkler system. Well that hasn’t happened yet and now this tractor saved the day during a drought year. You know a product is good when all the neighbors are using em too. You just have to keep a close eye on it when you have it in moving mode or be diligent about setting the tractor off switch and not letting too much hose get behind it, cuz it WILL start digging holes if you mess up. My neighbor sold his tractor years ago and was drooling over mine all summer. He is as mad as I was when I got rid of mine. This sprinkler is the bomb and it’s why you can never find em in the stores anymore.

Works great. Only complaint I have is after the first couple uses, it started squealing off and on while in use. Tried lubrication on the axles abut it seems to be coming from something inside.

I was excited when I found this tractor sprinkler, more excited it is cast iron. (I have two mouthy dogs that play with everything that involves water.). When received there was a missing part. I was so bummed out. Followed the manufacturer instructions to contact them for issues/parts. After a week with no response I left a message via Amazon. Within a day an Amazon rep got a hold of me, after providing the requested info Amazon sent me the missing piece. This is the first time I have ever had an issue and very pleased with Amazon!!!! As for the tractor. Like I mention, this is made of cast iron and has a solid weight to. My large dogs have not tipped it over nor tried to carry it away. Covers amazing amount of distance when watering. Has three ‘speeds’ - stationary, low, med. There are User lessons learn and influences like understanding the contour of your yard (i.e. slopes, holes, grass heights) that will determine and impact the sprinkler performance. Once you know your yard for laying the hose/track will increase the success of this sprinkler working for you.

I grabbed this watering tractor after a couple of Orbit oscillating sprinklers failed with a week. This tractor is built for the long haul! Gives excellent coverage as well. I actually used an old hose and staked the ends down to make my guide for the front wheel to follow. Turn it on and forget about it for 3 hours as it slowly creeps across my backyard watering it flawlessly. I highly recommend this tractor.

This is our second tractor sprinkler because we loved the first one so much and used it for years. Works great, easy to use.
