I think i must have left my last review and after doing some research here is a summarised actual purpose of this product and its really great: Now i am giving it a complete 5 star: "First, to correct the premise of my question: the Thermal Grizzly CPU Contact Frame is not a non-metal component. It is made of anodized aluminum, which is a highly durable and structurally stable metal. Its function is not to add to the thermal conductivity itself, but to solve a known physical problem with Intel's LGA 1700 CPUs. Here is a breakdown of how it works and how it improves cooling performance: The Problem: The Bending CPU Intel's LGA 1700 CPUs (for 12th, 13th, and 14th Gen Core processors) are known to have a "bending" or "warping" issue. The stock CPU retention mechanism, or "lid," applies pressure unevenly, causing the Integrated Heat Spreader (IHS) on top of the CPU to become slightly concave or warped over time. This warping creates a major problem for cooling: The IHS, which is supposed to be perfectly flat, loses good contact with the cold plate of the CPU cooler. This creates tiny air gaps and an uneven, thicker layer of thermal paste, both of which act as thermal insulators. Heat transfer from the CPU to the cooler is significantly hindered, leading to higher temperatures and potential thermal throttling. The Solution: Even Pressure The Thermal Grizzly CPU Contact Frame is designed to replace the stock retention mechanism. It works by: Removing the stock lid: You unscrew and remove the stock retention mechanism that comes with your motherboard. Installing the frame: You place the aluminum Thermal Grizzly frame over the CPU. Applying even pressure: The new frame has a more precise design that applies perfectly even pressure across all four sides of the CPU. How This Improves Thermal Performance By applying even pressure, the aluminum contact frame effectively flattens the warped CPU IHS. This ensures that the entire surface of the IHS makes direct, perfect contact with the cold plate of the CPU cooler. The result is: A much thinner and more uniform layer of thermal paste, which is a better conductor of heat. The elimination of microscopic air gaps. Significantly better heat transfer from the CPU to the cooler. So, the Thermal Grizzly CPU Contact Frame does not add a thermal cooling factor in and of itself. Rather, it is a structural component that fixes a physical flaw in the CPU's shape, thereby allowing your actual CPU cooler to perform at its maximum potential."

J’ai acheté le Thermal Grizzly AM5 Contact & Sealing Frame pour sécuriser et optimiser le montage de mon processeur AM5, et il fait parfaitement son travail. 🔧 Installation : • Le montage est simple si on prend son temps et qu’on suit bien les instructions. • Le frame remplace le système de rétention d’origine et s’installe sans difficulté particulière. • Une fois en place, le CPU est bien maintenu et correctement aligné. ❄️ Fonctionnement & efficacité : • Le contact avec le refroidissement est uniforme, ce qui permet une bonne dissipation thermique. • Aucune anomalie depuis l’installation : le système est stable et fonctionne parfaitement. • Le joint d’étanchéité joue bien son rôle et rassure lors de l’application de la pâte thermique (pas de débordement autour du socket). 🛠️ Qualité de fabrication : • Produit très bien fini, matériaux de qualité, fidèle à la réputation de Thermal Grizzly. • Le frame est solide et inspire confiance sur le long terme. ⚠️ À savoir : • Il faut être à l’aise avec le démontage du système de rétention d’origine (à faire doucement). • Bien respecter le couple de serrage pour éviter toute contrainte inutile. 📌 Conclusion : Un excellent accessoire pour les plateformes AM5, bien conçu et efficace.
