So good it even works on pregnancy back pains!
I bought this chair for my wife after having owned the Duorest Alpha (the mesh version) for over a year.My wife started a new job and her office chair started giving her back pain. It doesn’t help that she’s pregnant and needs as much back support as she can get.My wife has the typical 8-hour workday and is sitting in front of a screen for 80% of her day. I bought this $500 chair because I know how well the Duorest Alpha had helped with my back. And now my wife is seeing noticeable relief in her back pain as well.We received the chair a couple of weeks ago and only built it just last week. The packaging was spot on. Everything was protected very well. Nothing was damaged and everything looked pristine.Building the chair was a breeze. Most of the parts either already came pieced together or just needed two or three screws. Honestly, it was the easiest chair I’ve ever built.Initial reactions: This thing is commmfffyyyy. The leather seat and back pads are spongey, yet very supportive. I personally still prefer the alpha (I prefer the breathability of mesh), but the leather padding feels like a dream. We’ve had plenty of leather seats with barely any support where you can feel your sitting bones resting on the plastic underneath. This is not the case here. We really appreciate the super thick seat! The double backrest is awesome. Honestly, there’s nothing like it. My wife is petite and has a hard time with office chairs not providing proper support. She usually deals with backrests that are too large; the height of lumbar support and other parts of the chair never line up with her petite frame. These dual backrests solved that problem immediately. She was able to find the right height and width for her frame. Now she finally has back support that she’s never had in another chair before. The arm pads are a bit firm. They’re not my favorite. My wife doesn’t mind them. Fortunately, they can be adjusted low enough to fit under a desk. My wife has a large desk and it’s more comfortable to just roll up under it and rest your arms on the desk. The headrest works well too! It rotates in every direction so it’s easy to find the right spot. All the features you’ll ever need in a chair are there, too. And they all work well. Smooth gliding. Easily adjustable height and width of the backrest. You can recline freely or lock in your favorite spot. You can adjust the seat height (duh) and you can move the seat forwards or backwards. This is just what my wife needed. The double backrests and spongey cushions are a huge upgrade to the hard chair she had in the office. Honestly, if I could afford more of these, I’d buy one for every room in the house (or at least one more for when my wife works from home!).

Highly recommended for those with back & neck issues who have to sit long hours.
I've been purchasing & recommending DuoRest chairs for decades. I just purchased this to replace a DuoRest I've had for over a decade. It's still alive & kicking, but passed it down to a family member to get a new one - and this hasn't disappointed. Highly recommended, especially for those with back & neck issues who have to sit long hours at their desk. Changed my life!

Good chair, but I ultimately returned for one of their higher models.
I initially ordered this item based on the other good reviews. Gave it a try and really enjoy the dual backrest. I was looking to change out the caster wheels that came on the chair with the rollerblade style wheels as other people have mentioned, but could not get the current wheels off the frame. While searching online for any tricks or something I may have been missing, I started reading other reviews for other Duorest chairs. I ultimately decided to return the Duorest Gold and order the Duorest D2A model instead. The reasons I went that direction was (1) the D2A is one review comparing the models mentioned the D2A had thicker padding on both the butt and back section, and (2) the Gold has 6 wheels whereas the D2A only has 5. Since most of the rollerblade style wheels are sold in 5 packs, I would have needed to order two sets to get that 6th one.The only reason I marked this 4 stars instead of 5 is the head rest sits pretty far back. The only way to use it is in a reclined position. I would like to see some sort of adjustment to allow the headrest to protrude out more. It adjusts up/down, but would like it to adjust front/back too.Update: I also want to share my experience with the company during the return phase was excellent. As you can probably imagine, trying to return an item like this does provide certain challenges vs other Amazon returns. After the return was submitted and accepted through Amazon's interface, a rep from Duorest reached out directly and worked with me to ensure a return plan that worked for us both. Even though this product ended up not being the right one for me, I am glad to give Duorest my business.

It is a gamechanger! The designer deserves a humanitarian award for the dual-backrests!
Over 15 years, I've tried over 10 office chairs from $350 to $1800 (steelcase gesture, herman miller, All33, X-Chair, sidiz t80 etc) but they’ve not giving me me the support it needs, which for anyone thats had a serious injury knows just isnt enough. This chair provides steady lumbar support that cradles your entire backbone. I totally forgot I was actually sitting on a chair, it honestly feels like there are two individual backrests propping my back up. Let's get down to the details.Double-Backrests: The seat locks in 3 still positions however when you turn off the tilt lock you will get constant pressure where the backrest cradles your spine. This is 3D support which lets you move around more so you don't have to remain still. The amount of pressure is based on your body weight so it doesn't feel as though it's pushing you out of your seat. Everything is focused in supporting your body in a more upright position.Seat: I went with the Duorest gold renewal mainly because of the thicker sponge cushioning. The Seat padding is adequately comfortable. It's sponge and is thicker than some of the other models offered.Upgraded Headrest: The headrest is comfortable, it does adjust multi-way. The padding is pretty thin that also has 4D support.Adjustment mechanism: There’re several useful features on the Duorest Gold renewal, you can adjust the height & width of the backrests. There’s also lever to lock in your desired recline angle. Also you can adjust the seat forward & backward.Overall, it seriously feels great knowing that whenever I sit on this chair, I am sitting in a proper up-right position every time – dual-backrests almost force you into the correct sitting position. This chair, by far the best ergonomic chair ive ever used. Skip the Herman Miller and just get the Gold Renewal!
