Excellent pet nutrition in a kibble.
We love this food! It has high multiple proteins that really mix it up for the dogs. High quality with great ingredients. A food I feel good to feed my variety of dogs.To keep it fresh I just place the full bag in the tote. That way we don’t deal with food mites.

My dogs love it
I e searched and searched for a food that would fit the needs of all three of my dogs, all small, and all older. This is the only one I could find that they all tolerate (different allergies), all enjoy, and seems to have the least controversial ingredients at the most affordable price. A little pricier than grocery store cheap food, but well worth it in my opinion.

Curious reaction
I don’t want to rate unfairly but my dog won’t touch it! Bag is nice, the kibble is a lighter color instead of a heavily cooked (burned) piece.

Pup approves!
My pup loves this food and it’s well worth the price. They are small morsels so I do have to use a feeding bowl that makes it so she eats slower but she’s always eager for meal time!

BEWARE - PUP GOT SICK
I have been using Canidae since I adopted my pup at 2 months old. After much research all over the internet, and attempting to buy the safest, non processed food, with lots of health benefits to it, I went ahead and bought Canidae as it was the best dog food out there for its price.Fast forward:My pup is now a year and 2 months old, I bought a new batch of his food about a month ago, which I noticed looked more processed by the way - the dog food looked lighter brown (as opposed to its usual cocoa puffs dark brown color), and the kibble had shrunk in size. A 30 pound bag when I received the shipment looked like it had 20 pounds of food inside like a lays chips bag with mostly air inside. So I already had my suspicions about something being wrong with the dog food. I start feeding it to my pup 2 weeks ago, and he gets sick!My pup's diet mainly consists of Canidae and water. He hasn't gotten any snacks lately as the vet recommended to lessen them as its like candy for dogs and candy for humans aren't good, so imagine for dogs? So there's no way, anything else could have gotten him sick.Every morning this past week I noticed my pup had diarrhea all over his doggy house, bloody stool at times, looked sad, and he'd vomit or gag randomly. I took him to the vet and after testing, the vet stated he has salmonella and that happens due to dog food being handled by the wrong manufacturers, and recalls don't happen until pet parents like myself speak up. I've had salmonella myself when I traveled abroad once, and I don't wish it upon my worst enemy, so I feel terrible that my pup has to deal with this horrible sickness because dog food companies can't get it right, and they only think about the money involved, and not the well being of their clients. Also, a while ago I saw a friend's pup get sick with his dog food from Natural Balance having the same issue, and the food got recalled so I was highly upset to say the least that this is a reoccurring issue with all dog food companies. Now I basically have an entire bag of Canidae food that's garbage. And it ran me up with a vet bill, and has my pup extremely sick. They have a guarantee label on the back of packaging that states to send back the food if not satisfied with the product and you'll get your money back. But realistically speaking, how inconvenient is that? I purchased a 30 pound bag.. maybe have 20 pounds left... I already paid for shipping of the product, why do I have to pay it again for something I don't want, and is useless? Mailing it back just sounds like they're going to repackage it for the next chump to feed their dog with.My only way to let other pet parents know to NOT purchase this is through Amazon because that's where I bought it.Highly disappointed that Amazon would sell this to innocent fur babies! You'd think by this point Amazon would have a quality check when their name is on the line when selling products for third party vendors.I will be switching foods and will stop supporting Canidae after a year of buying it! They have lost a loyal customer!

Marley, my 13 year old Stafforshire Terrier (a member of the Pit bull breed) had a terrible problem with gas and was losing her hair and had become sluggish and bloated. I took her to the vet thinking it was her thyroid, but 500$ and a clean bill of health later, the vet said she was just very old for a dog her size. The vet said it might be her diet that was causing her bloat and foul smelling farts (these farts were 10 times worse than your run-of -the mill foul dog fart) so I switched from dog chow, benefuls, to diamond, and finally to pedigree (all of this was done slowly and over the course of a few months) But the farting continued and got so bad that she no longer was welcome in my bedroom at night because the farts were so horrific smelling that they would wake me from a dead sleep. I had to have her outside more often than not because it was affecting my families ability to be in the same room with her and it was breaking my heart that her gas frequency had become so bad that she couldn't even be around us. Her hair continue to fall out and the hair that was shaved when the vet removed a skin tag, had still not grown back after 6 months. After another search for dog food, I found this brand. After reading the reviews, which some honestly sounded too good to be true, I went ahead and pulled the trigger despite the higher cost. I can honestly say this was the best money I've ever spent. I've had this dog food for 4 weeks now and I can't remember the last time she farted. She even snuck into my room last night to sleep and I didn't realize she was in the bed until I woke up this morning. Her hair that had been all but gone from her thighs, nose, and belly has grown back and the bald spot from the biopsy site is almost completely grown in. Her coat has a shine to it, she is looking leaner and no longer looks bloated, plus she has a spring in her step that I haven't seen in a couple of years. She even went on a long hike in the mountains with me and had the energy to keep up. If it weren't for the grey hair on her nose you never would think she was a 12 year old dog. I'm a believer in this dog food and now understand that diet can make all the difference in a dog's health- I always thought it was just a gimmick used to sell dog food. I now have this as a subscription delivery and will be feeding Marley and all my future dogs this brand of dog food! Thank you, Canidae, for giving me my clean smelling house back!
