Wonderful elementary age series
My 9 year old daughter comes back to these books again and again. Maisie is great heroine - resourceful and clever. The supporting cast of characters are colorful and create an intriguing "slice of life" across the classes in Victorian England. The illustrations are charming and help to fill in visual gaps for the aspects children might not be familiar with. This series, paired with Zoe & Sassafras and Magic Tree House, are staples to my daughter's personal library!

Maisie Hitchins and her 8 detective cases - engaging, fun, great characters - recommended
Excellent 8 book middle grade series. Most of the mysteries were interesting and showcased Maisie's ingenuity and puzzle solving abilities. My only complaint really with the series is that it's only 8 books. She's a great character and it would be fun to see what her life would be like after the events of The Case of the Weeping Mermaid. Recommended.

It's a great gift for girls. The books are amazing detective stories and my daughter has read them again and again without ever getting bord of them. They are set in the victorian era. These books are great for people aged 7 to 11.

Very popular with my 7year old daughter
Bought for my daughters 7th birthday - she is an avid reader, she loves reading her way through box sets of books and this set did not disappoint. She thoroughly enjoyed all of these stories, and has read them all at least twice! A great female character. Her 9year old sister has also read them all and enjoyed them.
