I find this camera to be very functional. I place it my kayak and have it ready for nature shots. I love that it is definately water proof. The quality of the photos are excellent. It's nice to not have to use my cell phone for all my photos.

This camera is the worst underwater camera ever. I really wanted to love this camera. But how can an underwater rated camera die every time it gets wet? The warranty process is abysmal and takes forever. Most of the time is just telling me that I did it all wrong. I've had other underwater cameras before and I'm not a complete idiot. All I ever did was some surface level snorkeling or playing in a pool. It's just dead. Every time. I only go on vacation twice a year. I just wanted something that worked. I've had it a year, for two vacations - two brand new cameras (warranty one). It couldn't make it through one weeklong trip. I'm just not hard on things. Back to my onl underwater camera again. What a waste of money - on the camera, all the accessories, extra batteries (yes the genuine ones, etc). It takes great pictures otherwise, but so does my phone, which I'm carrying anyway and is half the weight and size. Do NOT waste your money if you want a snorkel camera. Really. Don't. You'll save yourself so much aggravation.

Used for several trips like the size and takes great pictures. Bought this camera to replace my 35mm for traveling makes things much easier and lighter for my backpack. Used for a year now have had no problems.

I really liked this little camera but bought it for the compass reading to be added to my pics, couldnt so I sent it back.. finally got help from pentax I am very sorry for the delay I tested it out and it worked great. In the C or custom menu please check the following settings. GPS set to ON GPS Disp Mode LAT/LON GPS HEADING DEGREES DATA IMPRINT LAT/LON UTC DATA IMPRINT ON HEADING DATA IMPRINT ON Next take the camera outside with a clear view of the sky. Do the compass calibrate following the instruction the camera gives you. Make sure to roll your wrists. Sometimes it takes the camera a couple of minutes to find the satellites. When it does the symbol will light up. Then you can take your picture and you will see when you look a the image in the lower right corner the recorded information. It is small but easier to see when it is not being viewed on the back of the camera. If you need more help I am happy to help. Thanks, end .. I will probably buy another just for this use.

This camera is bomb proof! It can withstand anything! Great camera!

We love this camera. My primary camera is a Canon 35 mm. However, I wanted something small and light weight that could get wet and fit in a pocket. It has been in the ocean, down a rafted river, and on the beach. The photos are clear and sharp. It is simple enough to use, so that my 10 year old grandson was able to use it on a recent trip to Costa Rica. It is very durable. Battery life is very acceptable.

I did not use outside/traveling On paper this looked perfect. Waterproof, 20mp, 4k and webcam. Compared to olympus tg-5 This wasn't as sharp even with the extra mp, Auto flash/iso wasn't as smart The webcam was slow to focus and looked too cropped in. Maybe it shines more when dropped and water tested but I didn't test that… I would have liked better overall photo performance. It didn’t (at least mine didn't) come with silicone cover/protector like it shows in the amazon photos.

Attended an outdoor evening Christmas event. Everything was lit. Almost every still and video were blurred so bad they weren't worth saving. Been trying to accept this camera, but it is unacceptable. Ricoh made a budget piece of junk. Not bad in daylight. But still not very good. Worthless in any level of low light.

Ce petit Pentax WG-8 n'a pas la qualité de résolution d'un Lumix DMC ZS100 a optique Leica (par exemple). Néanmoins, pour l'amateur de photo en nature ne requérant pas un haut niveau de résolution en mode téléobjectif ni une magnification de la lumière à l'aube ou au crépuscule... il fait le boulot.Excellent rapport qualité prix pour un petit appareil "tout terrain" somme toute (relativement) peu couteux pour sa gamme.

The first thing I did with this camera was stick it in video mode underwater, in my goldfish pond ... and shot 2 minutes of inquisitive fish faces. The fish and I just love it!
