I've always used fans but they just blow hot air around. I placed this on my landing with the hose out of the bathroom window (with an extension) I set it to cool mode and put the temp to 16 degrees within an hour it had cooled the whole of upstairs it meant I would have a great night sleep in the summer heatwaves. It is quite noisy but I sleep with white noise. It's weight is very heavy trying to get it upstairs was a real test of strength. Works really well.
