Review: Works when other holders won't - I needed a cellphone holder for my old truck but the style that I usually use (the ones that clip onto the AC vents) wouldn't fit. I went down a rabbit hole looking for something that would work with the tiny vents in the dash of my truck, but eventually I gave up. This mount showed up in my feed and I instantly felt like an idiot. OF COURSE! MOUNT IT TO THE WINDSHIELD! A simple solution in retrospect, but one that I'd completely forgotten. I've known the Scosche name since at least the 1990s, when they were most well-known for making car audio kits and accessories. In this day and age of unknown companies peddling products for a few months and then disappearing, I was at least a bit reassured to see a name that I actually recognized. The mount works fine, even in my old, rattly truck that shakes like a wet dog. I have a big steel washer bonded to the back of my cellphone case, which makes it stick like crazy to anything with a magnet, and I was able to position the mount so that I could get a clear view of my phone without obstructing my vision. This makes it easy to see the GPS and to run a cable to my phone so I can charge it while driving. Once you flex it into a position that you like, it will stay there without flopping around. That was a relief-- I've used cheaper mounts in the past that would not withstand the weight of a phone no matter what you did to them. Installation is dead simple. I cleaned the windshield with rubbing alcohol to remove any residue and then stuck the suction cup to it. It's been on there for at least a month and hasn't fallen off despite the fact that my truck parks in the sun and sees lots of temperature variation between day and night. No idea how this mount would work if you suction-cupped it to a dashboard, but for mounting on a windshield it is excellent. I'm glad that such a simple solution works so well.

The glue on the disc does not adhere very well at all. Did not adhere to textured material nor a smooth flat surface. If you live in hot weather areas, the glue will come undone. Great mount but useless if the base doesn’t adhere to a surface.
