Spectrum Optics - 6" Triangular Photography Prism - Premium Quality Optical Crystal Glass for Photography and Light Spectrum Physics 150mm

Bought the prism as another tool for photography. The prism arrived in a shipping bag. The cardboard box holding the Prism was crushed and cheaply made that I tossed the box. It will be stored in a microfiber eye glass pouch. Right now I have it displayed on a shelf with the crystal ball. The prism is not flawless and has a little microscopic bubble in it. I guess there should be a rainbow reflection? Haven’t seen it yet I played with it a little but I really don’t know how to use it in Photography.

This might be fun to play with, but when you look through the prism it is very blurry and distorts what you are looking at a lot. It arrived with fingerprints all over it (not a huge deal) but this was unusable for photography/videography since it distorts the image too much. I have used ones of this exact shape and they were nowhere near as blurry/distorted as this one. If you plan on trying to use this for photos, I would look elsewhere

There’s a little bit of a learning curve, but after you get the hang of it, you can get some really neat shots with this. These were all taken on an iPhone XS camera, so I’m sure if you’re a professional with a better lens, you could really get some beautiful photos. It doesn’t scratch easily, I actually lay mine down on concrete and haven’t had any problems. My only issue was the packaging. The case it came in had really taken a beating and was falling apart, but I guess that comes with buying a less expensive prism.

We had one of these when I was a kid. This one is beautiful and nicely packaged for the price for which I was pleasantly surprised! Glass prisms are much better than plastic and should last a lifetime

I just received mine and as soon as I opened the Amazon packaging I had a mold smell in my nose, the outside of the box as well as the inside are moldy, not very pleasant and I have to throw away the box as I will not have mold around me. So sad to start a new photo adventure like that :-( I more and more dislike all made in China stuff as my negative experiences are starting to add up.

I bought this for my child's school project for a unit on light and sound. After reading reviews I went with this glass prism to ensure a good rainbow, and it delivered great results! Sadly, it got dropped at school and shattered right before the presentation. The group had to borrow from another group (who had bought the same exact prism!). If you are buying a prism for school projects or for children to use, it might be worth thinking about an acrylic one, although the rainbow may not be as brilliant.

This was exactly what I was looking for. I like snapping photos and wanted to try adding a new creative gadget to my photography bag. Using a prism in front of your lens can really make for some cool effects !

Came in a nice box which I wasn't expecting. I feel like I looked at so many and dome mentioned a case or not but this was a nice box where it will stay protected in my camera bag! looked clean and nicely constructed. Very happy
