I have been leaning more towards natural remedies so I was excited to try this product as a replacement for Aloe as I understand it works well for GI issues, though I know this has not been evaluated by the FDA. I was actually pleasantly surprised by this product which did seem to work for my needs. I did find my stomach a bit active with a few burps, but overall I didn't have any issues. I blended it up in water with a immersion blender and it dissolved fairly well, was mildly gritty and faintly flavored with a few small clumps. The taste was pretty un-notable, and I suspect would blend fine with other things and possibly be unnoticeable. Blended it really didn't change the texture of the water past faint grit which was not terrible, but in all fairness I did drink it down rather quickly. For the serving size there is a good amount of powder here that should last a while. The container is easy to open and keeps the powder dry and fairly fresh. I may end up stashing it in my freezer to try and extend out it's 2 year shelf life. This product advertises Non GMO, Vegan Friendly, Wheat, Dairy and Gluten free all of which are probably a given considering this is powdered tree bark but I really appreciate that it is FDA approved. Overall, I'm excited about using this. It's not as offensive or hard to drink as I imagined and the powder form is quicker acting for me than gel caps. So far so good! After trying it with various water temperatures and reading all the reviews, I guess it’s expected that this doesn’t turn into a gel. It’s always runny. That means the mucilage compound (which is the beneficial aspect of slippery elm) is of low quality.

I like the taste too, it's sort of woody, a bit smokey and grassy, and blends well with hot water. A nice measuring scoop included. When mixed, it has a more or less thickish consistency, like, say, cocoa. It's organic and has no artificial ingredients. Great product.
