Great backing to my fish tank
The blackout arrived on time and well packed. We followed some of instructions to install but mainly looked at youtube videos for more advice. We used a spray gun and layed the blackout on a kitchen worktop first , it made it so much easier to get the blackout ready. After lots of wetting and following the instruction on how to remove the protected film , it was fitted. The blackout really make the landscaping look vibrant and my fish stand out.

Blindin’
We’ve put these up in a child’s bedroom to replace an old ‘suction pad’ blackout blind (pictured) that kept falling off.So, this arrived. A roll of film, and tucked inside were a cloth, ruler, craft knife and instruction sheet.Easy enough in principle, but a bit faffy to get the cutting right. I did it over a block of wood, in small ruler sized cuts.Window wise, clean, dry, wet with water, then peel off the blind backing sheet, wet that, and apply. Wet a bit extra once on, then squeeze the water out.An old credit card in kitchen roll made a great squeegee.Trim the overhang by pushing the knife against the edge of the window, then keep doing the squeegee until happyOne section of window was longer than the roll, so I did a rough join of two bits. So far so good. The main thing, the room is nice and dark!

Blackout film
Doesn’t stay if there is any slope on the window. I need to get one with adhesive

Cuts uneven and doesn't stick well.
Unless you use a laser to cut this stuff, the lines go miles off. Doesn't fit the window without gaps so it was wasted for me.

Very effective. Fiddly to install.
This is a good, light-excluding film (bearing in mind the warnings in some of the other reviews about UV/sunlight). I needed it to black out some internal glass windows, so the sunlight issue wasn't a problem.Cutting the film to size requires a lot of space to spread it out and cut it without wrinkles. Then you have to perform a dance with soapy water and a squeegee that I perhaps wasn't expecting - I imagined it would have an adhesive backing. I think the film is just stuck to the glass by air pressure, which means it could in theory be removed in the future without leaving a sticky residue.Once cut to size (in my case re-cut to size), the result is good, and the slightly matte effect is quite nice. It's just a bit of a faff to cut and apply.

I didn't keep but provides the privacy it claims to provide
I didn't end up keeping this product, but after unrolling the product it definitely is provide privacy and some light blocking from harmful UV rays. I just decided to go with a window covering instead of cutting 15 squares per window (of which I have six) if I used this product. Returning due to personal preference not anything wrong with the product.

Easy to install, for windows and aquariums
I have used a similar product from other brand before. This product is slightly thicker so it's easier to handle and install. The translucency is slightly less but enough to provide us the privacy as intended. It also works well on the back of my aquarium.I was able to remove any bubbles by running an old credit card over.

Totally blacked out and easy to apply
Compared to adhesive films in the past this was a dream to apply. Wet the glass first with a sprayer and then could just put it on and adjust. Afterwards squeegeed the water out with a felt lined squeegee and trimmed the edges with a sharp hobby knife.Roll has enough for 3 skylights
