Lamy Nib for Safari, Vista, Joy, AL-Star, Black, LH

Reviews of the Lamy left-handed nib have varied -- some people say they are useful and some don't. This seems to be related to the way you hold your pen as a left-handed person. I find that I hold pens in three ways: 1) At a roughly 45-degree angle, 2) Choked up on the pen in an almost vertical position, and 3) Between the first two fingers of my left hand -- also in an almost vertical position (see photos). Using a Lamy Logo pen, I found that the original fine nib was great in position #1 (45-degrees), scratchy and wrote poorly in position #2 (vertical), and useless in position #3 (between fingers). For me, this LH nib is great!! It writes well in all three positions. It is still a bit scratchy on paper in position #2, but you will see from the writing sample that the outcome is great on paper. I have not been able to find a fountain pen before now that lets me write in the slightly odd position #3. This is THE ONLY nib I have found so far that lets me write this way, so I am quite happy with it. FINAL VERDICT: BUY this LH nib unless you always write in the 45-degree position #1 in the attached photos, in which case you may not need it. Highly recommended.

If you're a left-handed fountain pen user, this may work better for you than a regular nib and frankly you just have to try it and find out. I gave it five stars because the nib itself is well made and performs as described. I started with a regular Lamy Extra Fine nib which works very well for me and how I hold the pen. A regular Lamy Fine nib also works well for me. I ordered this LH nib thinking "maybe the LH nib will be even better." For me it wasn't, but it was primarily a line weight issue. I like a finer line. The LH nib is a medium thickness which I didn't like. If you use a medium regular nib but are left-handed, this LH nib is worth trying, and it's a relatively small investment to learn whether or not it can improve your writing experience. Changing the nib is very easy - look online for examples of how to use a little tape to pull the existing nib off of the pen.

Don't see a difference between this and the med I replaced.

After watching a couple of YouTube videos, I was skeptical that a left hand nib would make a difference. I decided to try it because my regular medium nib was super scratchy. The LH nib is definitely better.

Excelente producto, siempre he querido usar pluma fuente al ser izquierdo siempre he tenido problemas a la hora de usar la pluma fuente cuando probé este plumin LH fue excelente la escritura, noté mucho la diferencia al escribir con el, totalmente recomendado si eres izquierdo funciona muy bien
