desertcart.com: King of Envy (Kings of Sin, 5): 9781728289762: Huang, Ana: Books Review: Morally grey is back indeed!!! - Right from the get-go, this book pulls you into a world brimming with longing, peril, and tangled emotions. The spark between the two main characters is off the charts—a slow-burn attraction that simmers below the surface and eventually boils over. But what truly sets this story apart isn’t just the crackling tension — it’s the emotional depth woven into every chapter that really hits home. Ana Huang does a brilliant job of pulling readers into the hearts and minds of both leads. Ayana is no pushover — she’s fierce, focused, and carries her own emotional baggage beneath the surface. Ayana has always been Jordan’s closest female friend, so when his grandma slipped a clause into her will saying he had to tie the knot to get his inheritance, Ayana was the obvious go-to. There’s zero romance between them — just a straight-up business deal. But since they’re both constantly in the spotlight, they agree to keep up appearances and act like they’re head over heels. Meanwhile, Vuk — Jordan’s college buddy and Ayana’s long-time admirer — has been secretly carrying a torch for her since day one. Vuk, on the other hand, is a closed book, haunted by a past that slowly comes to light. His quiet strength and inner demons are laid bare with striking honesty, and watching him slowly let his guard down is both gut-wrenching and beautiful. Vuk had me in a chokehold from page one — so complex, so broken, and yet so real. I couldn’t get enough of his mysterious past, and Ana revealed it all with such emotional precision. His transformation throughout the book? Mind-blowing. And the way he loves Ayana — fiercely, selflessly, completely — had me kicking my feet. If there’s a Vuk out there, I’d like to sign up, please. Drama? Check. Tension? Off the charts. Forbidden romance and soft-hearted chaos men? You bet. This book had everything I love wrapped up in one deliciously addictive package. I’m running out of superlatives here — it might just be Ana Huang’s best yet. Her books keep getting better, and I can’t get enough. With every twist and turn, the action and suspense elevate the tension of their relationship, seamlessly blending thrilling moments with emotional depth. This is a love story grounded in trust, healing, and the bravery it takes to be vulnerable. King of Envy stays with you long after the last page—sensual, touching, and powerful. Readers won’t just be drawn to the characters for their intensity, but for their delicate, human side. A stunning five-star read that proves Ana Huang is at the top of her game in romance. Review: Vuk is hot - King of Envy was such a solid read and a strong addition to Ana Huang’s Kings of Sin series. While it didn’t hit quite as hard emotionally for me as King of Wrath or King of Pride, it still delivered plenty of angst, slow-burn tension, and of course—the dangerously irresistible Vuk. From the start, Ana sets up that forbidden vibe that hooks you in. Vuk is magnetic—broody, ruthless, yet controlled in a way that makes every word and every glance from him feel like it’s holding back a storm. One line that really stuck with me was when he warned: “I’m not a good man, and I’ll never pretend to be. But I’ll burn the world before I let anyone touch what’s mine.” That right there perfectly sums up the heat and the edge he brings to the story. What I loved most was the balance between his cold exterior and those rare, vulnerable moments that cracked through. He’s calculating and intimidating in business, but the way he’s drawn to her feels raw and unshakable. Honestly, Vuk is hot as hell—the kind of hero who makes you want to underline every scene he’s in. The romance itself is definitely a slow burn, sometimes too slow. There were moments I wanted the pace to move a little faster, or for the chemistry to tip over sooner into something more explosive. That’s where it lost a star for me. Still, when things do ignite, the payoff is intense. Their push and pull had me flipping pages late into the night. Ana Huang’s writing remains sharp and seductive, full of lines that linger. Another favorite: “Desire is dangerous. But with you, danger feels like the only truth I’ve ever known.” Overall, King of Envy is a captivating ride—equal parts passion, danger, and heartbreak. Vuk absolutely carries the book with his dark, scorching presence, and even though I wanted just a bit more speed in the story, it’s still a must-read for fans of the series.

Vuk ❤️ Ayana
VUK VUK VUK!!!! When I say Ana Huang brought back her morally grey men, she brought them back in full force. This was Christian Harper all over again, and I couldn't be happier. I’ve missed my morally grey men, and Vuk delivered on every count. I love that man. This book had everything—twists, turns, and a plot that was plotting. I’d have to say Ayana is one of my top favorite FMCs in the Ana Huang universe. This book was an easy 5 out of 5 for me. Ayana was brilliant, loyal, powerful, and most importantly—brave. What I loved most about her was that she wasn’t a damsel in distress. She didn’t cower in the face of problems—she stood tall, took control, and didn’t need a man to protect her. That said, I loved that Vuk still did, and I appreciated that Ayana knew when to ask for help, even though she was fully capable on her own. Now let’s talk about my VUK. Because feminism is temporarily out the window—this man can do absolutely no wrong in my eyes. He came, he delivered, and he left no crumbs. He’s my traumatized man who clawed his way to the top, and I couldn’t ask for more. His yearning and desire for Ayana was everything. He would kiss the ground she walked on. He defined the word pining, and oh, did he pine. He is the epitome of a man possessed by love. This is one of my top reads of the year, and Vuk Markovic has definitely secured a place on my top 10 book boyfriends list. This is the fifth book in the Kings of Sin series, and I cannot wait for Maya and Sebestian’s book!

Has been a while since I felt the need to leave a review after reading a book, but this one just made me feel like I'm not ready to say goodbye to Ayane and Vuk. They were well constructed characters, with flaws and charms, sooo well matched together, it hurts! Not that I can imagine anyone being better for Ayane than Vuk, or the other way around.... but together they are better, they are the best version of themselves. I just wanted to say that I will remember their story for a long time! Book 5 just rekindled my obssession with Ana Huang!

Just like the rest of the Kings of Sin, I've read this book as a buddy read with friends... The amount of sessions we read this in, that ended with a cliffhanger and took all my willpower and love of my girls to stop reading 😭 Vuk was perfectly suited to being the completely morally grey MMC. His personality screaming all our favourite tropes. We had the 1 bed, we had the tense uncommunicative start that felt like enemies to lovers, we had the burn the world for her, and we had the absolutely beautiful uncompromising love and protection we crave when we read an MMC like this. But! We also had Ayana, who was battling her own issues with work, with finances, with a fake engagement, and with her feelings for Vuk as they grew. She became fierce, in a loyal, and supportive way towards the attitude Vuk often faced for his appearance. We witnessed her change in perceptions of Vuk as she realised he was softer and more open with her. This was a truly beautiful love story, with plot that plotted, twists that turned, and spice that was slow burn but man, did it pay off to wait 😏 Vuk, you're tied with Alex Volkov from Twisted Hate for my favourite Ana Huang MMC 😘 💕✨ Xx
