I grilled some cheap hamburger meat with these and it basically acts like a Teflon skillet. I still had grease flame up but it was just directed to the edges of the mats. I'm still trying to clean the char off the mats.I would suggest using this with good cuts of steak that would have minimal fat drippage.Good product. Doesn't cost much. You won't regret having it for special applications. Just limited uses for me.

I have a love-hate relationship with these BBQ mats. On the one hand, they are convenient for barbecuing chicken pieces and vegetables. The taste is the same as I get with a naked grill, and my grill ends up a lot cleaner. The black grill mat clearly absorbs heat which seems to increase the functional cooking temperature. On the other hand, these mats are very hard to clean, contrary to the manufacturer's description. Fat hardens onto the mat and sticks. Placing them in the upper rack of the dishwasher was ineffective. I found that I have to soak them for 24 hours and then gently remove the debris with a coarse sponge. It is easy to tear the black plastic if you scrub too hard. Just as I am about to throw the mats into the trash in frustration, I try them again and appreciate their virtues.

These seem to hold up well. We've only u sed them a few times but so far they've given us the promised grill lines and there's been no change to the taste or cooking time of the food. It saves on grill clean up and the mat washes up easily.

The mats that I have used worked well... maybe too well. The grease sits on top of the mat and does not burn away like without them.I still like the mats so far. Had no problem (so far) with clean up.

Do what they're supposed to. If you have food anywhere near the sides, the grease will find a way to drip off. Also won't last more than 3 or 4 heavy uses, which is ok considering the price. I'd buy again.

I LOVE these bad boys!! My husband wanted them sooo bad.. I was like eh, ok fine. They are incredible! The customer service from the company is amazing as well, I received emails with tips and asking how I like my product etc.. They truly care if their customers are happy with their purchase! We grill up tasty fresh veggies, burgers.. I even made amazing bacon and French toast on it! Talk about perfect especially for my camping family! We are going to Disney world & intend to bring these with, they have grills on the property for personal use.. We will be utilizing them with these awesome non stick magic mats!

I grill a LOT and I LOVE the premise of this product as it has kept my new grill much cleaner than cooking right on the grill. One of the mats however ripped through after only about 6 uses and the second one, after about 15 uses, is about to give up the ghost. Maybe I got thin ones or something?I should say that I do clean them after each use with hot water and dish soap...maybe that is why they arent lasting??Two stars for great idea.

Allows for heat and grill lines. While cooking food, you can remove the grease from the mats by swabbing with paper towels held by tongs. Although they are top shelf dishwasher safe, I prefer to soak them in sink with soapy water and then I use a non-abrasive-sided sponge to remove any char that wants to hang on. One set will last the season, even if you grill a few times a week. I order a new set every spring.
